We attended the NW Overland Rally and could not have been more grateful, humbled and flat out felt welcomed. From the few "celebrities" (absolutely normal awesome people) who blew the doors open on the concept of overlanding, to amazing people with either zero, or several years of experience. Travis sold his 2001 E350 Sportsmobile before leaving Chile and flew back to Michigan to start his next conversion, a 2008 Duramax 4x4 ambulance. He then converted his ambulance in 90 days for his Alaska trip; included a DRZ 400 dirt bike on the back to enjoy his adventures, knowing he’d finish-up any remaining details along the way. Travis plans to enjoy plenty of kiteboarding, rock climbing, stand up paddle boarding, and spear fishing along the way.There’s a lot to learn from this episode as Travis walks us through his philosophy of preparing and departing for an overland trip. In the beginning of 2015 the three friends finally had enough, there had to be more to life than working in an office. It was time put plans into action and start living. Bernd and Claudia overlanding the world in their Land Rover DefenderThey purchased their rusty old Land Rover Defender, four years ago as Bernd was working as a project manager in the IT industry, getting burnt out with life at home in a hectic career. With no idea of car mechanics, Bernd turned his Defender into a overlanding camper with lots of blood and sweat, gave it the name Calimero, and left their home in Germany, March of 2017. Bernd and Claudia have now been through Iran, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, parts of China, Tajikistan, Pakistan and India; just to name a few. We caught up with them as they were awaiting Calimero to arrive in Halifax Canada to start a two year North America overland tour.

Overland Australia with Ace the dog in a Troopcarrier:After a year of serious planning and savings, Jack, Jemma and Ace left as planned for a one year overlanding adventure around Australia. Both from Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, Jack and Jem are absolute perfect examples of making a plan and taking action. They both love camping and the outdoors and have outfitted their Troopcarrier for overlanding. We caught up with Jack and Jem after they clocked 3,000 kms (1,864 miles). They share with us their contagious youth and energy for overlanding, all their lessons learned, tips, gear selection and stories of travel.
