Paris-based DJ and co-founder of record label Distrikt Paris, Bassam, is known for his sought-after eclectic selection and sharp technique. Bassam has been shaking dancefloors across France and Europe at large, and this year, he released his debut album ‘Clockwise Rhapsody’. For our latest Select, Bassam will provide you with an intimate glimpse into his sonic universe with an hour and 43-minute set, featuring sweltering house beats that feel as if they were pulled out of an 80s arcade.

SceneNoise proudly presents ‘Select 211’, an electrifying mix by DJ MoCity, a key figure in South Asia's music scene and a luminary of the UAE based Hence label. Born in Baghdad, raised across UAE and India, and co-founder of boxout.fm, DJ MoCity drew inspiration from his multicultural heritage to become a regional seasoned tastemaker behind the decks. This mix, marking Hence's first anniversary, encapsulates MoCity's diversity, blending club beats, afrobeats, and hip-hop with a flair that transcends borders. Over the past few years Molotof has made a name for himself as one of Egypt’s most innovative producers and live acts, gaining recognition for his chart-topping work fusing mahraganat and trap music, collaborating with notable artists such as Marwan Pablo, Wegz and more. His unique blend of styles and sounds, which he terms "Molowave," combines elements of traditional Egyptian music with dance music and rap influences, creating a distinct and dynamic musical genre. In our latest Select, we have Dubai-based DJ and music executive Patrick, aka Patch. Driven by his deep-seated passion for making music, Patch founded Feedasoul Records in 2016, a Lebanon-based label specialising in House music. On a mission to reshape the region’s musical landscape, Patch launched Freehand Worldwide, a multi-faceted music company serving as a one-stop solution for independent artists and record labels. Patch’s 66-minute soulful set for Select features deep house beats broken up with some jazz melodies and afro beats, reminiscent of NYC’s Harlem street in the early 20s.

Joining us on this week’s Select is Tunisian DJ and founder of event brands Tri city and Gatemusik, Amin Trabelsi, who is among the rising new wave of young talents taking over the vibrant Tunisian clubbing scene. Fueled by a diverse range of artistic influences, Amin has slowly established a reputation for himself and a designated space behind the decks with his distinctive digging style and effortless mixing flow. For our 208th episode of Select, Amin sets the ambience with a 28-minute dreamy laid-back set filled with minimal house beats, ambient melodies and funky grooves, featuring the likes of John Heckle, Uluru and Boom Generation.

For our 207th Select session, we are bringing in Dea, a UAE-based Italian DJ and co-founder of Dubai’s techno collective Secta - a driving force in the city’s underground dance music scene. Earlier in 2023, Dea launched Secta’s record label, aiming to spotlight MENA-based electronic artists from different backgrounds and showcase their talent regionally and globally. Featuring her signature deep hypnotic rolling melodies, electro-infused beats and kinky basslines, Dea’s dynamic hour-long set for Select is packed with high energy, promising to keep you grooving till the last minute featuring the likes of Chlär, Toobris, Franco Alesso and Modem. www.scenenoise.com

This week's SceneNoise Select puts the spotlight on Sokkary, an Egyptian DJ/Producer and Hybrid Live Act from Alexandria. Known for a style that delves into the darker and more emotive realms of electronic music. His work, which includes releases on MDLBEAST and various international labels, has received recognition from top DJs like Joris Voorn and David Guetta. Notably, Sokkary was selected for Tomorrowland's Future4 November 2023 show, highlighting his growing influence in the global music scene. Sokkary's Select set is a journey through his unique sound, blending deep melodic tracks with resonant experimental elements. For our 205th episode of Select, we have Cairo-born DJ and music producer Youssef El-Aguizi, aka Aguizi, from Bubblegum Kollectiv. Fueled by his deep-seated passion for making music, Aguizi has been spinning since he was 13 years old. Establishing a name for himself in Cairo’s nightlife scene, the Egyptian artist has shared the deck with a slew of renowned international artists like Francis Mercier, Claptone, Hernan Cattaneo and Purple Disco Machine. Aguizi escorts us on a one-hour sonic odyssey, featuring fiery Afro-house junctures, propulsive rhythms and swinging melodies, with the presence of eclectic tunes like ARYME & Osfur’s ‘Alegria’ and Bun Xapa ft. Moojo’s ‘Hate It Or Love It’.

This week on Select 204, we have a special set from Lazuli, an Egyptian party series amplifying the sounds of local rising DJs through its dynamic showcases, from intimate rooftop sessions to different party concepts like Dafunk, Subliminal, Alive and Plan B. Skillfully curated and mixed by Lazuli’s residents Ram, Adam, Fady, Xtrakarim and K-Laff, the set will take you on a two-and-a-half-hour wild sonic journey, akin to Lazuli’s distinctive parties, all from the comfort of your abode. The set unfurls with a brewing thirty minutes of minimal house beats from Ram featuring tunes like Heimyl’s ‘Back’s groove’ and Madvilla’s ‘Orbit’. As we enter the second half of the first hour Fady lures us in with some deep basslines from his ambient soundscapes, before giving way to a high-octane B2B session from Xtrakarim and Adam featuring hard syncopated basslines and some thumbing tunes lke Mole Music’s ‘Check Ourself’ and Furz’s ‘Take Out’. For our 203rd Select episode, we have Jordanian producer, DJ and founder of Waxing Moon collective, Rami HR, known for his experimental sets that skillfully blend various sounds like minimal, tech house, progressive and atmospheric house. Since his emergence in the MENA’s underground electronic music scene, Rami’s music has transcended the borders of his homeland’s dance floors, touring across the globe from Lebanon to Qatar, Thailand and Cambodia. Drawing inspiration from renowned artists the likes of Swayzak, Deep Dish, and Satoshi Tommie, Rami’s distinctive sets serve as narratives that slowly unfurl throughout the night with laid-back melodies and funky grooves. In his exclusive long-hour Select set, Rami brings a brewing dance affair of sweltering synths, robust grooves and dreamy ambient soundscapes featuring soaring vocal samples.

This week on Select 202, we have DJ Corin IIeto, aka CORIN, the Filipina-Australian electronic music producer, composer, and regular monthly host on London’s NTS Radio who is best known for merging classic Western music with hyper-electronic sounds to create immersive soundscapes. Drawing inspiration from her multi-cultural heritage and mythology elements from science fiction, CORIN’s distinctive mixes feature an assemblage of converging styles, ranging from IDM, EBM, trance, and baroque-laden ambience. In her hour-long Select session, CORIN has mixed a selection of tracks from various compilations, which have been released recently to raise funds for Palestine, such as Paralaxe Editions’ ‘For Palestine’, Mrama Division’s ‘By All Means’, and Cease 2 Exist’s ‘Emergency For Gaza’. With influences from Spain, UK and Detroit’s dance music scenes, DJ/Producer duo Los Profundos have become a regular staple in Egypt’s nightlife with a penchant for deep melodic energy with progressive house, and high tech minimal techno. Los Profundus have had a regular stream of releases on Monkley Project Records amongst internationally renowned artists.
