The transition process of athletes from sports to work is in most cases tougher than expect – Christoph Henneberger, former professional basketball player at Wuerzburg Gemany, described his way – a path that has been set and defined very early – although it was very challenging he had a clear vision of where he would end up afterwards – playing professional sports and studying at the university – his transition path went from basketball court to the class room, where he became a teacher. Finally, Prof. Bipp and I picked up a topic that should be on the agenda of every organization and HR department. According to positive personality traits, there are also so-called dark personality traits – here we talk about narcissism and others. It can be very harmful if organizations have leaders and decision makers that have these traits. Therefore, the big question is, how can organizations / HR identify those – at best already in the recruitment process, in order to prevent negative effects. Welcome back – this is part 2 of the discussion, that I had with Prof. Wolfgang Dauth Assistant Professor of Empirical Regional and International Economics, University of Würzburg on industrial robots and the implications on the German labor market. Good data on in use industrial robots across Germany made it possible for Prof. Dauth and colleagues to calculate which regions will be winning and which are going to lose jobs in the future. Interestingly, those regions with a higher density of industrial robots are not the regions with negative employment projection. Listen to the second part of our discussion on this hot topic.
