The chaps indulge in some good old gaming chat and talk through Jordan’s game, food and drink choices. He’s a man who knows his stuff, but will it be enough to get him onto the island? Back in July 2019 we were all super excited to welcome BAFTA-winning voice actor Cissy Jones (Firewatch, Death Stranding, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order) onto the show. Rich, Dan and Ben had a fantastic chat with Cissy but then… disaster. Due to technical issues the audio was totally unusable and we all kicked ourselves repeatedly and cried ourselves to sleep for weeks. The fact we’ve managed to get this episode to a point where it’s fit for public consumption is nothing short of a Christmas miracle, so we hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed recording it. Welcome back to the Switch Island library! This time we're casting our beady eyes over the entire Pokémon franchise! With over two decades of history, the Pocket Monster mainline games are finally making their debut on a home console with Sword and Shield on the Nintendo Switch. Can they live up to what came before... and what exactly did come before, exactly?! Listen to Chief Flamingo Dan reminisce about what sounds like a pretty dodgy Pokémon Trading Card club he attended as a kid, and Adam from Switch Indie Fix wax lyrical about his favourite entries in the series. Andrew says some things too.

Remember those dark days before The Nintendo Switch brought us all together? No? Us neither. Life was a meaningless void before we met you. Still, our newly appointed librarian Andrew (alongside hired 'muscle' Dan & Laurie) dares to shine a light into the darkness and analyse an archaic device called the 'PS Vita' which, legend has it, helped pave the way for our beloved little hybrid.

Andrew, Ben and Rich meet up at LOADING gaming bar in Dalston for a press event, and decide to record a cheeky Express before going in. Drinks may have been had, and games may have been discussed. Being recorded in a pub, there's some background noise to contend with but rest assured we'll be back to our regular recording setup for the next one. We don't go out often.

EGX is over for another year and it was bloody brilliant. Never mind all the great games we were lucky enough to play (more of that on this episode) the best part was being able to hang out with each other. We genuinely loved every minute and we hope that came across in the live streams, in this episode and in all the EGX-related content we put out over the coming days. Episode 17 is even shorter than usual, recorded as we walked out of EGX, accompanied by the one and only Catflap Barry (Flatcap Gary).
