On November 13, 1974, 23-year old Ronald DeFeo Jr. murdered his father, mother, and four siblings late in the night as they slept soundly at their home in Amityville, Long Island. 13 months later, George and Kathleen Lutz and their three children moved into the same house, allegedly experiencing 28 straight days of unexplained terror that would spawn an iconic novel and a famous series of horror films. In the third part of our four-part hauntings series, we take a look at the events that transpired at 112 Ocean Avenue, break down the aftermath of the alleged hauntings, as well as discuss theories about it being a hoax. • E63: The Winchester Mystery House

    13/05/2019 Duración: 01h06min

With the untimely death of her husband William in 1881, Sarah Winchester inherited partial ownership in the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, giving her more income than she knew what to do with. After moving to San Jose, California, Sarah would begin the seemingly never-ending construction of her labyrinthine Winchester Mystery House, providing builders with nonsensical instructions that included staircases leading to nowhere, doors that opened to more doors, hidden rooms, and many other architectural oddities. It's said that Sarah Winchester received instructions about the houses construction by the spirits of those who had been killed by firearms manufactured by her late husband's company, with Sarah attempting to appease and confuse the angry spirits through the never-ending construction. On this episode of Big, If True, Matt and Kayla discuss Sarah Winchester and the events leading up to the houses construction, as well as the history of the Winchester Mystery House, theories about the house, and much

  • E62: The Great Amherst Mystery

    06/05/2019 Duración: 01h25min

The Great Amherst Mystery is one of Canada's most famous hauntings, and has been cited as being one of the most credible examples of explainable paranormal phenomena in history. The events saw 18-year old Esther Cox and her family be tortured by the presence of spirits for nearly a year, before ending almost as soon as it all began. Actor Walter Hubbell famously wrote about the case, gathering a number of eyewitnesses for testimony, and having them sign an affidavit for the release of his book The Great Amherst Mystery: A True Narrative of the Supernatural. In this episode, we talk about Amherst, Nova Scotia, Esther Cox, and the events that took place from September 1878 until the following summer. • E61: The Death of Adolf Hitler

    29/04/2019 Duración: 01h42min

By 1945, Nazi Germany had seen two years of increasing losses on the Eastern front, the involvement of the United States in the war, and the arrest of close ally Benito Mussolini - early in the final year of the war, it was clear that the Nazi German empire was crumbling quickly. In early 1945, Adolf Hitler and his long-time lover Eva Braun would take refuge in the Fuhrerbunker, where they would allegedly take their lives at the end of April. In the final part of our "Nazi Conspiracy" series, we take a look at events that led to the quick rise and fall of Nazi Germany, the last days of Hitler, and the conspiracies about his alleged suicide. • E60: Edward VIII

    22/04/2019 Duración: 01h28min

King Edward VIII reigned for just 327 days, abdicating the throne after a crisis that involved his being romantically involved with an American divorcee named Wallis Simpson. Following his abdication of the throne, both Edward and his new wife were roundly accused of being Nazi sympathisers, with both having close ties to Nazi government elites. Edward would regularly correspond with Nazi officials, allegedly making statements on more than one occasion that indicated that his loyalty to Britain was now in question. This would lead to the Nazis devising a plan that allegedly involved installing Edward as king once again, using his questionable loyalty to their advantage. In this episode, we discuss the state of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1936, the Edward VIII abdication crisis, Operation Willi, the Marburg Files, and much more. • E59: The Reichstag Fire

    15/04/2019 Duración: 01h12min

1933's Reichstag fire is perhaps the most pivotal moment in the rise of the Nazi Party to power in Germany. The burning of the Reichstag allowed Adolf Hitler and the leading Nazi elite to consolidate their power, passing the Reichstag Fire Decree and the Enabling Act of 1933 that would strip away the fundamental rights of German citizens, and give Adolf Hitler the power of both the presidency and the chancellorship. In the second part of our "Nazi Conspiracy" series, we take a look at the Reichstag Fire and the fall out from the event, and discuss Marinus van der Lubbe, the alleged arson responsible for starting the fire. • E58: Geli Raubal

    08/04/2019 Duración: 01h18s

Geli Raubal, daughter of Adolf Hitler's half-sister Angela, was said to be the only woman that Hitler ever truly loved. During the early years of the Nazi Party's rapid rise in the political sphere of the Weimar Republic, young Geli caught the eye of her much older "Uncle Alf", leading to years of Raubal being kept as something of a hostage to Hitler's desires. Ultimately, it would end in the mysterious death of the 23-year old Geli Raubal, and lead Adolf Hitler into an alleged period of deep depression at one of the most crucial points in his career. The Chupacabra, Spanish for "goat-sucker", is one of the most legendary cryptids in the modern history of the Americas. For half a decade, the creature allegedly terrorized communities throughout South and North America, killing large amounts of goats, chickens, cattle, and other animals. • E56: Remote Viewing

    18/03/2019 Duración: 01h39min

Remote viewing is defined by the CIA as being the “acquisition and description, by mental means, of information blocked from ordinary perception by distance, shield, or time.” For over two decades, the American intelligence community conducted hundreds of remote viewing experiments under a variety of project names, gathering intel about Soviet military bases, as well as missing persons and objects. This week, Matt and Kayla discuss the long and often complicated story of remote viewing, covering the alleged experts in the field, a number of stranger than fiction success stories, and the eventual abandonment of remote viewing by the intelligence community. Find out how to remote view on Gaia, and check out Third Eye Spies on Vimeo or on the official website. • E55: Project MKUltra

    11/03/2019 Duración: 01h33min

During the early years of the Cold War, the American intelligence community became extremely interested in the raw power held in being able to change and control the brains of Soviet Bloc spies and government officials. This morbid interest would turn into the CIA's Project MKUltra, one of the most famous projects ever conducted by the American government. MKUltra would see American and Canadian citizens be unknowingly dosed with LSD and other psychedelics in the name of developing powerful methods of mind control. In this episode, Matt and Kayla finally tackle Project MKUltra, talking about the history behind the program, the involvement of the American and Canadian governments, the death of Frank Olson, and more. 11/02/2019 Duración: 01h05min

Michael and Suzan Bear Carson, two vagabonds living the hippie lifestyle in 1980's California, undertook one of the most bizarre series of murders in the history of killer couples. The self-described "vegetarian Muslim warriors" would hear LSD-induced messages from God, who told them to rid the world of so-called "witches". This would lead the couple to killing three strangers over a period of just over two years, eventually being branded the "San Francisco Witch Killers". In the first episode in our Deadly Love series, we take a look at the lives, crimes, and the eventual capture of Michael and Suzan Bear Carson. • E50: FEMA Camps (Redux)

    04/02/2019 Duración: 01h10min

Conspiracy theories about FEMA Camps have existed for decades, with believers warning that Americans who are deemed to be "dissidents" could be betrayed by their government at any time and confined to forced labor and mass extermination camps. While little concrete evidence exists to back up these claims, nations around the world have infamous examples of governments turning on their own people, creating more than enough precedence to lend some legitimacy to these rumors. In celebration of our 50th episode, we re-investigate the topic of our second ever episode - FEMA Camps.
