Kyle joins Ryan and Evan for our second installment of reviewing classic styles called Beer 102. Evan gives a little background on the annual Oktoberfest event and its origins while discussing amber marzen style lagers with the one that started it all.  Ryan shares a special lambic geuze he recieved from a friend in Belgium and how unique the style really is.  Finally, Kyle gets to crack the OG saison that everyone should try and why it's universally adored.  Thanks for tuning in!  Cheers from P+P!!

We welcome Kyle to the podcast to talk a couple basic styles of beer.  While we sip on some vintage 3 Floyds beers, we discuss a couple classic German stlyle beers you should check out and harken back to when IPAs were actually bitter.  Our beers today come from Weihenstephaner, Ayinger, and Bear Republic Brewing Co. in addition to a great sour from Fonta Flora Brewing outta North Carolina.  Our beers of the week come from The Veil Brewing Co., Saugatuck Brewing, and Side Project Brewing.  This is an episode that certainly paid hommage to those beers that have paved the way!!

You like meat?  Then this is the episode for you!  Mark, Bryan, and Evan collaborate on a meal for the meat lovers.  As we crack some great beers from Bearded Owl Brewing and Bearded Iris Brewing, we get down to how we constructed a BBQ and smoke centric dinner including smoked chicken wings, pork belly burnt ends, and smoked beef ribs (wow they are huge!).  We share our personal tips on BBQ and smoking, what kind of sides we love the most (the pimento cheese dip is tops), and also discuss what brews we like to pair with our offerings.  Enjoy our first huge dive into the provisions side of our obsessions, cheers!!

Taproom to listen to Chris of Dagz, a recreational dice game, tell us why his invention is taking over local drinking establishments!  He shares his story how he came up with the addictive game and how his brand has grown to fill breweries and taprooms.  We share beers of the week, sip on some fresh Henry and Fran Brewing Co. beers, and get stumped on a blind taste test once again. Cheers from P+P!!

This one's for the wood workers!!  We sit down with Steve and Caroline with Rocket Wood Studio in Pekin, IL, and learn about how they can turn a milled piece of specialty wood into beautiful and striking bars, table-tops, and custom pieces.  They also tour us through their shop where old, vintage tools are hard at work next to some cutting edge technology.  And don't forget we sip on some great beers while listening!  Then we talk to Tom West of West Dublin Pub, a newly opened Irish style pub in the downtown district of Pekin where their passion is creating a space for the community to gather.  Don't forget the incredible hand-crafted bar and tables built by Rocket Wood Studio!  We truly enjoyed listening to their stories and sharing a beer!

Cheers Provisionists!  Evan, Mark, and Ryan explore both the deserved and non-deserved hype in craft beer today and why we need to just enjoy what we are drinking!  The conversation was sparked by discussing and sharing what our best beers of 2018 have been thus far and what the latest hype is in the craft beer industry.  We also get a little "meaty" talking about how we spent our Father's Days (mostly relaxing and smoking meat) and what we tried that really stood out over the past week.  There was even time for a little blind tasting - tune in to find out what it was!

Taproom is a one-of-a-kind craft beer experience located in Peoria Heights, IL.  We learn from Nate and Jason how this unique craft beer bar got started and where it's heading next.  It was the first in the state of Illinois to bring craft beer enthusiasts a pour-your-own tap wall allowing drinkers to sample from their exceptionally diverse menu of drafts.  Pour Bros. We talk to John McGarry, Captain and Founder, of Brink Brewing Co. in Cinncinati, OH, on how the brewery got started and how their community focused vision made them one of the most interesting stories in craft beer.  John, along with his founding team of Sarah (his wife), Kelly (his brother), Mark (brother-in-law), and Andrew (long time family friend) have not only brought home well deserved hardware for their fantastic beers but built a brewery centered on the neighborhood of College Hill which has embraced them with open arms.  Listen in to John tell the story on how it all started with Brink while Mark and Evan sip on a few of their incredible offerings.
