  • Creating a Fabulous Walk-In Closet (#53)

    24/04/2019 Duración: 11min

One of my favourite areas to organise are newly built walk-in closets. I love it so much that my Instagram is mostly filled with walk-in closets which have been organised. As fabulous as walk-in closets are, they are often created by designers and the client with some flaws. There are parts of the space that have not been considered, which then causes problems when putting the clothes and accessories into the space. To help to create a fabulous walk-in closet, I am giving tips in my new podcast on what to consider when designing the closet. In this new episode we talk about * Decluttering your clothes before you start the design process. * Organising your clothes and accessories. * Flaws to avoid designing the walk-in closet. * Sections to consider within the closet space. • Getting your Spouse on Board with Decluttering (#51)

    10/04/2019 Duración: 12min

In this week's episode, I wanted to discuss a hot, fiery topic: how to get your spouse on board with decluttering. Often a client will tell me that their spouse is the reason for the clutter. They walk in the door every day and throw items around randomly; or they hoard items and don't want to let go of their clothes, paperwork or other items. This behaviour causes frustration and often acrimony in the house, but asking a spouse to declutter can lead to you walking into a brick wall. Today's podcast discusses the cluttering spouse and is perfect for you if you are walking into a brick wall currently with your other half. In this new podcast we discuss: * The issues that occur when asking spouses to clear their clutter. * How to convince your spouse to start the declutter process. * Decluttering in your home with and without your spouse. * The timeframe to get your spouse to declutter. We would love it if you would leave your review of the DeCluttr Me podcast in your favourite player. If you have any suggestio

  • How to Look After your Designer Clothes (#45)

    27/02/2019 Duración: 10min

This week saw the loss of the genius designer Karl Largerfield who designed for Chanel, Fendi and of course his own label. Whilst he had his flaws, there was no mistaking his talent to create pieces which were adored and bought by many around the world (including myself). In honour of his legacy, I thought it would be apt to talk about how to look after our designer items in this week's podcast. A few of us have been fortunate to be able to buy or receive designer clothes, shoes or accessories over the years. Whilst we appreciate the quality, craftsmanship and work that is involved in creating these items of clothing often, I find whilst working with clients, that the items are not looked after to ensure they retain their luxurious finish for many years (this can also apply for your high street items as well). In this week's podcast, Chirag and I will discuss: a. The best way to wash your clothes, b. The best hangers to use for your clothes. c. Looking after your leather items including your bags and shoes. d
