We get started with Louis Jordan who had been playing Rock & Roll long before it was called that; next check out the cool version of "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" by Chubby Checker. Our twin spin includes Bill Haley & His Comets "Thirteen Women" (And Only One Man) and it's b-side "Rock Around The Clock" - yes it was really a b-side! A real treat with the very last song by the Illinois Jacquet and the jazzy original "Harlem Nocturne" before the Viscounts covered it.

We kick off the show with an old Glenn Miller standard "Jukebox Saturday Night" covered in 1960 with 2 hit medley of "The Book of Love" and "Get A Job". Our twin spin this week is Brian Hyland's "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" and its b-side "Dont Dilly Dally, Sally".

Featuring James Ray, Jack Scott, Billy Ward & His Dominoes, Dion, Johnny Cash, Chubby Checker, The Drifters, Lee Andrews & The Hearts... We start off strong with the original "Got My Mind Set On You" by James Ray, the 45 George Harrison bought during a visit to the U.S. in 1963. Another original we feature "A Thousand Stars" by Eugene Pearson, later covered by Kathy Young & The Innocents. A third and final original we feature the original "Handy Man" by the Sparks of Rhythm, later famously covered by Jimmy Jones. Our twin this week involves the Coasters' "Charlie Brown" and its b-side "Three Cool Cats."

With Bobby Mitchell & The Toppers, The Clovers, Big Joe Turner, Lee Allen, LaVern Baker, Pat Boone... We start off with the original "I'm Gonna Be A Wheel Someday" later covered by Fats Domino. Other notable originals include "The Shape I'm In" by Kenny Lee Martin. Our twin spin this week is the Flamingos' "Love Walked In" and its haunting b-side "Yours."

With The Lifeguards (aka. The Comets), Otis Redding, The Fireflies, Fats Domino, Carl Perkins, Eddie Bo, Mickey Baker, Jimmy McCracklin, Faron Young, Jimmy Hughes, Al Hibbler, Burl Ives... We start off with an instrumental a-la The Comets without Bill Haley incognito as The Lifeguards. Another fabulous instrumental in the show which was just a local hit in the Chicagoland area from the Egyptian Combo called "Gale Winds" from '63.

With the Matys Brothers, Duane Eddy, Little Joey & The Flips, Titus Turner, Stan Freberg, Bobby Charles, Aretha Franklin... This week we feature our twin spin with The Baritones' "After School Rock" and its b-side "Sentimental Baby" out of Dore Records in '58. A special treat for the Queen of Soul fans, you'll get to hear a very young Aretha from 1961 before she became known nationally.

With Jerry Lee Lewis, Dr. Feelgood & The Interns, Gene Thomas, Chuck Berry, Clyde McPhatter, The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye, The Four Freshmen, The Five Keys... More originals kept alive! In this show, "Cherry Pie" by Marvin & Johnny from '54, later covered by Skip & Flip in '59, "A Rockin' Good Way" by Priscilla Brown & The Spaniels from '59, later covered by Brook Benton & Dinah Washington in '60 and "Crazy" by Willie Nelson who wrote it for Patsy Cline. This week's twin spin includes the Coasters' "Down in Mexico" and its b-side "Turtle Dovin" from '56. A special treat for Beach Boys fans: you'll hear the Honeys, produced by Brian Wilson and whose leading member became Wilson's wife: Marilyn Rovell. And look out, here come Duane Eddy's twangy guitar playing "Three 30 Blues".

We proudly pay homage to the Day The Music Died; three of Rock & Roll's most promising stars (Honoring Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and JP Richardson "The Big Bopper") lost their lives at such a young age on February 3, 1959. We'll end playing Don McLean's famous tribute song.
