Not so much Disney news from Walt Disney World this past week, but there are definitely some interesting things that came up. WDW taking small steps back normal from COVID-19 as they start removing hand washing stations from around the parks, Disney has re-evaluated the “Disney Look” guidelines, refurbishment of the rooms at the Contemporary Resort have begun, more Disney water marks show up for on-ride photos, Disney firework techs are returning to work, a rumor of a change at the Haunted Mansion, and finally Disney has retired the “MouseGears” name at Epcot to make way for “Creations Shop”! This week on the podcast we finally got some long awaited announcements from Walt Disney World this week!  We learned that the expansion to the France pavilion inside Epcot’s World Showcase will be opening October 1st to begin the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort.  This expansion includes the new attraction Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure as well as the new La Creperie de Paris which will host both quick service and table service offerings. Also Disney Parks Blog shared that the new Disney MagicMobile service will launch in phases beginning later this year.  The MagicMobile service will be a “convenient and contactless way to access MagicBand features like theme park entry through the power of your smart device.”

This week on DW:60’s Press Row we start the show with some disturbing news from the Orlando Sentinel that states Walt Disney World Cast Members are being verbally and physically abused by guests pertaining to the current COVID-19 precautions and policies Disney has.  There has been spitting on Security Guards, Pool Attendants pushed, and fighting with Reedy Creek Fire Fighters.  Plus the new lighting, new flags, and new music near the entrance of Epcot as the Taste of Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival begins for 2021! We're back for the start of Season 15 of DW:60 on Sorcerer Radio and our first episode of the podcast in 2021!  Disney News has started off with a bang in 2021, but not all of it sits very well with the Disney Community.  First off we'll talk about Disney's announcement that Disney's Magical Express, the "complimentary" bus service from Orlando International Airport will be going away at the start of 2022.  Now everyone is scrambling to figure out how they'll get to their Disney Resort next year.  The answer to that might be the new Brightline High Speed Train from MCO to Disney Springs.  Also since the structured reopening of Walt Disney World back in July 2020, we've been wondering when we would see Extra Magic Hours come back for Disney Resort Guests.  Well according to Disney Parks Blog that won't be happening at all.  Instead Disney has a different plan in mind, and again the Disney Community is not happy.
