    Tune in as Shawn talks with Marcus Bowman, Deputy Athletic Director and CFO of Business Strategy at the University of Oklahoma. A former student-athlete, Bowman explains how he grew up in a competitive and sports-oriented family, but also one that instilled the value of working hard in school. This upbringing led to a full academic scholarship to Pitt and a spot on the basketball team, and, after graduating with a degree in finance, Bowman went on to serve as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Sport Administration at his alma mater. Now in Oklahoma, Bowman explains the path that led to his role at OU and gives advice for student-athletes looking to follow in his footsteps, including how to network, both personally and professionally, on the golf course.

It was this newfound passion that led to a job at the LTV Steel factory in Cleveland, making her one of the first women to lead a labor relations department in the steel industry. Spolar then discusses her transition back to Pittsburgh to work with Pittsburgh Public Schools, a job that ultimately led her to connect with Shawn as he was in the process of creating Orange Arrow. They finish by sharing some of their favorite OA experiences, and their hopes and vision for Orange Arrow as it continues to grow.

The two discuss how Zeise’s early interest in sports and writing led to a degree in journalism from Temple and his first writing job with the NBA in Manhattan. He also discusses his move to Pittsburgh to write for the Post-Gazette and how he worked his way up to covering Pitt Football - including covering Shawn's time at Pitt - and his eventual transition to TV and then radio. They finish by discussing the importance of reporting fairly and always showing up the next day, no matter what you wrote the day before, and always being well-read and ready for a life after sports.
