  • Part 4: The MisEducation of America

    24/02/2019 Duración: 35min

This episode is the conclusion to my Black History Month celebration series. Even though this is the end, I will continue to recognize, rejoice in, recommit to, and reeducating myself and others about Black History all year round. I hope you all do as well. Together, we can use our history to break the chains of ignorance, hate, and discrimination perpetrated against us and sadly at times by us. This is probably the shortest episode to date but it is one of the best. I hope you enjoy the main topic as well as the usual suspects of Colonizer Nonsense and This Week in Sports. Please join us next week where we will be talking about the disturbing and heart breaking rise in child suicide among Black children. It is something we as a collective should tackle head on and fast. Please follow us at www.blackwithnochaser.com as well as www.shadeandshittalking.podbean.com. You can also find and follow us on Twitter @Blacknochaser and IG @blackwithnochaser. Also, this podcast can be found on the various podcasting platf

  • Part 3: ReCommitting To Black Excellence

    17/02/2019 Duración: 43min

This episode is part 3 of our four part Black History Month series. I talk about recommitting ourselves to ourselves. I challenge you the listener as well as myself, family and friends to commit to making a difference in the lives of those we come in contact with. By challenging ourselves to do and be better, we can and will improve each and every one of our communities. Are you up for the challenge? I know I am. In this episode I also talk about committing ourselves to challenge the way our history is being taught to our children in these schools. I used the real Rosa Parks story, and not the sanitized version they teach, as an illustration of the whitewashing of our history. I also give examples of different ways that I use to celebrate our history not just for this month but for everyday of the year. Also in this episode, I brought back the For the Culture segment where I honored Ms. Jovan Bradshaw and her efforts to push the culture forward. As always I have the fan favorites Colonizer Nonsense as well as

  • Part 2: Reflect and Rejoice: Rosa Parks and Medgar Evers

    10/02/2019 Duración: 46min

Both sacrificed and worked tirelessly for the betterment of all Black folks in America. We honor and salute them both. Also in this episode, I have a new Politricks as Usual segment where I talk about the astonishing and racist behavior of 3 top government officials in the state of Virginia. • Part1: Black History is American History....Let's Reflect, Rejoice, Recommit, and Re-educate

    02/02/2019 Duración: 46min

This episode is the kickoff to a month long series dedicated to Black History....American History. The focus of this series will be defined by the four R's: Reflection, Rejoicing, Recommitting, and Re-Educating. I believe these 4 things are necessary in order for us as a collective to further grow in the right direction. This first episode I talk about Dr. Carter G Woodson, the creator and curator for Negro History Week, which was the foundation of Black History Month. I hope this spurs more people to learn and teach about our rich and very understated and whitewashed history. Also in this episode, I have a new Politricks as Usual segment where I will be talking about the huge numbers of democrats throwing their name into to that for the Democratic Party nomination. I encourage you all to vet each one and do your homework so that we get the best candidate possible. As usual I hit you with another funny This Week In Sports, the Super Bowl Edition, as well as more Colonizer Nonsense with a focus on Blackface...

  • The Rape Culture Epidemic....If You See Something, Say Something

    26/01/2019 Duración: 01h04min

In this episode I am joined by writer and fellow Black With No Chaser member Angela Dennis as we discuss the harsh rape culture we are living in and its far reaching affects. This is something that we both feel that ,we as a collective, need to come together and address this head on at all times, and not just when a celebrity is involved. Angela also discussed the details of her latest article where she addresses the need for us to be careful of quickly judging Black men when they are facing allegations of rape or any other sexual misconduct.  Within the confines of this convo, I talk about the effects this culture has on young Black women and children. I also talk about the Gillette commercial addressing various things including toxic masculinity, sexual assault, and the age old adage of boys will be boys. As usual, there is some colonizer nonsense as well as another Mardis Gras inspired This Week in Sports segment..... • Justice Delayed: The Case of Cyntoia Brown and its after effects on Society

    12/01/2019 Duración: 47min

This episode is a continuation of one I did a few weeks ago talking about the case of Cyntoia Brown and how I hoped for her to gain clemency.  This episode is celebratory in nature but it is also a wake up reminder and a realization that there is still so much work to be done in the protection of our Black women and children as well as prison reform. I also take this time to show how this case is very relatable to the #survivingRKelly Saga as well discussing how differently young Black women and girls are viewed through a lense of hypersexuality verses their white counterparts.  This episode I introduced a new segment entitled "Why You Mad" as well as a new Colonizer Nonsense and a This Week in Sports segment. Happy New Year to all. This is the first episode of 2019 and I am beyond excited for the things to come....Peace and Blessings to you all In this episode I delve into the conversation that is going on everywhere, the Lifetime documentary Surviving R. Kelly. Although I have given my opinion on this subject before, I feel that it is necessary to give my insight and my feelings on this at this time. He and others like him who condone or enable this behavior should be dealt with and exposed for the predators that they are. • No Justice...No Peace: The Curious Case of Cyntoia Brown

    15/12/2018 Duración: 59min

This episode became an unintentional follow up to last week's NO Justice, Just Us episode. I talk about the case and in my opinion, the modern day lynching of Cyntoia Brown. This case lead me to search for and discuss other cases that demonstrate the racial disparities in the way the justice system operates. There is a cruel and distinct difference in "justice" meted out to Black people and other minorities versus non POC. Speaking of justice, I also came back with another Politricks as Usual segment to follow up and further talk about Michael Cohen's conviction, Russian interference and convictions, as well as the National Enquirer having a huge role in what may be the ultimate downfall of IQ 45. Make sure to stick around for this week's segments of Colonizer Nonsense, This Week in Sports, and a new segment called Black Entertainment News... • No Justice...Just Us

    08/12/2018 Duración: 53min

This episode I follow up on last week's segment about Dr. Olivia Hooker by relaying info about a surprising, yet well received story about the Tulsa Massacre. I also delve into the lack of justice received by the family of Willie Jones Jr, who was found hanging in MS back in February as well as the MURDER of Emantic Bradford Jr. This episode, I brought back one of my favorite segments, Politricks as Usual, as I discussed the death of the 41st president as well as his legacy as far as Black folks are concerned. I also talked about the happenings of his funeral as well as the upcoming death of Toupee Fiasco's presidency thanks to Robert Mueller and his investigation. Of course the episode would not be complete without some Colonizer Nonsense as well as This Week in Sports.... • The New Trail of Tears

    20/10/2018 Duración: 01h05min

In this episode I discuss my experience of being a father and how it has motivated and changed me for the better. I also discuss the negative stereotypes and false narratives perpetuated in the media about Black fathers. This leads into the topic of my biggest fear for my son. And that fear is becoming a victim of the crocodile tears of white women. That has become an even bigger weapon against Black folks that utilizes the police as their own personal attack dogs creating a wake of death and destruction just as the original Trail of Tears did to the natives. Also in this episode I discuss the importance of the midterm elections and it's future repercussions and how it will affect us all.
