  • DA: Ep. 20 - We’re Gonna Need a Montage

    06/08/2018 Duración: 26min

This week Oatman was out of town, and time was limited. The good news: there’s still an episode. The bad news: we had to resort the dirtiest trick TV producers ever pulled. We made a clip show. The also good news: It’s still a good episode. And hey, if you haven’t heard some of these clips, it’s new to you.

  • DA: Ep. 19 - Mission Watchable: Vague Motivation

    30/07/2018 Duración: 16min

Ethan Hunt may have lost a step, but he’s still the best runner in the spy business.

  • DA: Ep. 18 - Star Trek-ish

    23/07/2018 Duración: 40min

As season 2 of "Star Trek Discovery" approaches, we turn our critical eye toward the first season of this CBS All Access original series. Is it the show we’ve been waiting for, or should choosy "Star Trek" fans choose something else? SPOILERS begin at minute mark 8:03. Other topics discussed: Heist, TOS, TNG, DS9, Enterprise, Klingon and Ferengi retcons

  • DA: Ep. 17 - Rag-Tag

    16/07/2018 Duración: 13min

This week we debate the virtues of Tag - starring Ed Helms, Jeremy Renner, and Isla Fisher. Finally, we examine the age-old question about filmmakers: is competence enough? Other topics discussed: Chris Farley, Black sheep, Tommy Boy, Adam Sandler, Three Stooges

  • DA: Ep. 16 - Ant-Man's Quantum Leap

    09/07/2018 Duración: 29min

Only one of us hates the latest Marvel joint, "Ant-Man and the Wasp." But which one? The answer may surprise you. (The other merely doesn’t much care for it.) Other topics discussed: Star Trek; Avengers: Infinity War; Thor: The Dark World; Justice League; Space: 1999

  • DA: Ep. 15 - The Incredibles Animation Debate

    02/07/2018 Duración: 30min

We talk Incredibles 2 this week, though we immediately get off track with a heated debate about the nature of animated films. That’s right: heated! Other topics discussed: Fast and Furious, Wall-e, Toy Story 3, Black Panther, Captain America: Winter Soldier, Iron Giant, Princess Mononoke

  • DA: Ep. 14 - Batman and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

    25/06/2018 Duración: 32min

We take on the animated adaptation of "Batman: The Killing Joke." Will Batman finally cross the line and kill The Joker? It turns out, there’s a real debate about that point. We also examine: just how bad is Batman’s sense of humor? Other topics discussed: Prince; Batgirl; Commissioner Gordon

  • DA: Ep. 13 - Amish Dystopia

    18/06/2018 Duración: 19min

Join us for a SPOILER filled discussion of the Netflix original film "Mute" directed by Duncan Jones. If you haven’t yet seen the film, let us save you the time. Sure, we spoil the film, but you were never gonna watch it anyway. Let us do it for you. Topics discussed: Mute – Science fiction tropes Moon Blade Runner

  • DA: Ep. 12 - Ocean's 77% of What Clooney Got

    11/06/2018 Duración: 30min

We examine Sandra Bullock's follow up to the George Clooney trilogy in Ocean's 8. In this episode, witness Oatman steal L.J.'s roll of the curmudgeon. (He has some strong feelings about the film.) Did anybody else notice that George started at 11, but Sandra only gets 8? Hmm. Other topics discussed: The Book Club Jane Fonda Ghostbusters Kevin Costner Waterworld The Postman Wyatt Earp Tombstone Melissa McCarthy

  • DA: Ep. 11 - Deadpool Too

    04/06/2018 Duración: 32min

The disrespect is evident this week as we have a surprisingly heated conversation about Deadpool 2 - everything from potentially misogynist storytelling tropes to surprising soundtrack cues. Bonus content: stick around all the way to the end to hear L.J. express genuine enthusiasm for something. (I know, right!?)

  • DA: Ep. 10 - The Young Han Solo Chronicles

    28/05/2018 Duración: 41min

We watched "Solo: A Star Wars Story," and we feel obligated to tell you about the experience. We also debate the finer points of two competing productions of Hamlet from the 90’s (for some reason). Fair warning: We start with a fairly spoiler free discussion, but at the 16:30 mark, we get into heavy spoiler territory. If you haven’t seen it and don’t wish to be spoiled, pause it there and come back later (we also warn you in the episode right before the spoiler section)

  • DA: Ep. 9 - The Little Merman

    21/05/2018 Duración: 28min

We finally tackle Guillermo Del Toro’s unconventional yet quite conventional star-crossed romantic fantasy "The Shape of Water."

  • DA: Ep. 8 - Fresh Prince of Middle-Earth

    14/05/2018 Duración: 20min

We take on the Netflix exclusive "Bright" starring Will Smith. This is his second collaboration with director David Ayer after "Suicide Squad." How could this possibly go wrong?

  • DA: Ep. 7 - We fix the DC Universe

    07/05/2018 Duración: 23min

In this part 2 of our Avengers: Infinity War spectacular, we leave the Marvel Universe behind to offer the DC comics film ‘verse a helping hand. Let’s face it. With the exception of Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. is struggling to get their DC house in order. Oatman and L.J. offer some untried and untested ideas to help them right the ship.

  • DA: Ep. 6 - Thanos Strikes Back

    30/04/2018 Duración: 32min

This week, we heart the Mad Titan Thanos, star of Avengers: Infinity War. Join us as we rhapsodize and, of course, pick some nits. We start out with a brief (relatively) spoiler free section only to jump headfirst into some heavy yet delightful spoiler filled discussion. Don’t worry; we warn you before the transition.

  • DA: Ep. 5 - Of Mechs and Monsters

    23/04/2018 Duración: 25min

This week we battle Pacific Rim: Uprising. Hope your love for giant monster fights is matched by your love for hollow banter and convoluted exposition!

  • DA: Ep. 4 – Weekend at Stalin’s

    16/04/2018 Duración: 19min

This week we take on The Death of Stalin. Oatman and L.J. just can’t see eye to eye on this hilarious satirical send-up of tyrannical machinations and human rights violations. Sounds like quite a romp from the creator of HBO’s Veep and BBC’s The Thick of It. We don’t go out of our way to spoil too much of the film; though we might sneak in a few story beats here and there. To be fair though, the title itself is a bit of a spoiler (especially for those of us who attended an American public school). Whether you’ve seen the film or never plan to, this episode is well worth a listen.

  • DA: Ep. 3 - Spielberg does Spielberg

    09/04/2018 Duración: 38min

Spielberg's Ready Player One portrays a dark future that celebrates the corporate owned intellectual property of the 80s, 90s, and today. The kids of the future will pay good money to admire their grandparent’s consumerist childhood entertainment, and Oatman & L.J. paid good money to said corporate interests for the privilege of watching those kids do just that. Sounds like an episode of Disrespectfully Agree to me. New episodes now available every Monday.

  • DA: Ep. 2 - Existentially Portman

    04/04/2018 Duración: 19min

We discuss Alex Garland’s latest film, Annihilation starring Natalie Portman. The critics love it. Garland’s previous film, Ex Machina, was a minor masterpiece. The stage is set for us to admire the hell out of this picture. Perhaps you can guess how this is gonna go. (WARNING: we spoil several moments from the film. If you plan to watch Annihilation, pause this episode and come back later. On the other hand, this episode is probably way more entertaining.)

  • DA: Ep. 1 - Killmonger's Lament

    26/03/2018 Duración: 33min

The world cried out for Black Panther discussion, and Oatman and L.J. Disrespectfully Agreed to disagree about myriad meaningless minutiae. No nit will remain unpicked in this epic battle of will. Two podcasters enter. Two podcasters leave. But only one will be right.
