We’re here at Paralympics GB House where we’re joined by swimmers Poppy Maskill and Will Ellard, teen swimmers that made a splash in the pool. Between them, they’re not just bringing home 8 medals but have also smashed world records. Let’s hear more as our Paulina spoke with them on the terrace. An amazing achievement for Sophie Unwin and her Pilot Jenny Holl on winning Gold in the women’s Para Cycling Road Race at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games on Friday 6 September 2024.  Coming in to the last 1000 metres of the just over 99km race it was between Sophie and Jenny and the Irish Team of Katie-George Dunlevy and Linda Kelly but a fantastic flying downhill sprint finish from Sophie and Jenny to win the Gold.  (Image shows Sophie and Jenny crossing the finish line with their right hands in the air smiling) Credit ParalympicsGB

More from the swimming at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games as RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey chats with a a very joyful Rebecca Redfern just after she had been presented with her SB13 100 Metres Breaststroke Gold medal. Rebecca previously had won Silver at both the Rio and Tokyo Paralympic Games and to finally come away with a Gold is such an amazing result for Rebecca.  Reflecting on winning her Gold medal, Rebecca tells Toby how that final race was for her coming in to the race being the fastest in the heats and how good it was to have her family and friends there in Paris to see her win the Gold medal. VI Sports-lover Geoff Smith was at the Paralympics to watch GB play Wheelchair Rugby. He was offered a Touch2See tablet for the games and told Amelia about his experience using the tech and the atmosphere around the games. Image shows Geoff smiling at the camera. Zoe Newson didn’t want to try power lifting but after some encouragement, she’s a Paralympic medal winner. She spoke to Allan Russell in Paris. Let's check in with Paralympics GB House as Allan Russell chats with Krysten Coombs, who won silver in para badminton at the Paralympic Games this year. In the final of the Men’s SL3 Para Badminton at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games on Tuesday (3 September 2024) Bethell in his second Paralympic Games won a Silver with just missing out on Gold to Kumar Nitesh of India. RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey caught up with Dan on the terrace of Paralympics GB House to find out how the competition for Dan had been over the whole games and how he was feeling winning his Silver medal and just missing out on Gold. Robert Doorington is one of the Paralympics GB Volunteers who has been helping to ensure that everything runs smoothly at Paralympics GB House in Paris, meeting some of the Paralympics GB Athletes and ensuring that they get to there press interviews on time.  Robert tells RNIB Connect Radio’s Toby Davey why he wanted to become a Paralympics GB Volunteer in Paris, what it has been like meeting some of the athletes and what he will take away from the experience being out here in Paris and being a Volunteer for Paralympics GB.
