Football-loving members of RNIB ‘Community Connections’ telephone groups get together each week to talk about the latest going on in leagues across Scotland and England.  What’s the verdict after the first round of fixtures in Scotland?

As the football season gets underway in Scotland, members of RNIB Community Connections Telephone groups have got together to share their thoughts on the upcoming action this weekend.

Barry Snell caught up with charity fundraiser Blind Dave Heeley to talk about his latest fundraising challenge, which will see Dave and his team cycle from Switzerland to Belgium, where they will cycle to the famous Western Front, which was where many soldiers lost their lives during World War One. As we approach the 2024 Paralympic Games, being held in Paris, Channel 4 has announced its accessible coverage plans. RNIB Connect Radio’s Allan Russell spoke to Jonathan Penny, from Channel 4, to hear about the coverage that will be audio described for blind and partially sighted viewers. A few months ago we told you about a new cricket club that has launched in the Hemel Hempstead area.  Hubert has been speaking to Richard the club coach and former England player Steve Humphries who plays for the club to see how the club has been progressing. The Royal National College For The Blind's football team are preparing for Saturday's FA Disability Cup Final, where they face West Bromwich Albion at St Georges Park If successful it will cap off a remarkable season for RNC, who have already won the treble. Barry caught up with their coach Adam Bendall to find out how the squad is doing?
