FMPD says the shooting happened after 10:30 p.m. outside of 1527 Hendry Street. The authorities say an altercation between two groups prompted the shooting. FMPD says one victim is receiving medical treatment for a gunshot wound. On the evening of April 29, 2023, an empty lot in the area of Gladiolus Drive and San Carlos Boulevard was the meeting spot for a large car club. This particular meet, however, had no intentions of being discreet. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), deputies began receiving several 911 calls at around 11:05 p.m. in reference to multiple vehicles revving their engines and doing donuts in a large vacant parking lot. When deputies arrived a the scene, a large car club quickly began to disperse. Shortly after, a group of ATVs and dirt bikes arrived and joined the group of cars. Angel Acres Recreation and Festival Property, the owners of Nanaimo, Kelowna and East Vancouver clubhouses that were seized last week, filed an application in Canada’s highest court on April 18 for leave to appeal a decision involving the Director of Civil Forfeiture. Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 1 a.m. near 2800 East Independence Blvd. An initial investigation revealed an event was taking place at Lab City when a fight broke out. Eric Snodgrass, 37 of Zanesville, was sentenced to prison after an incident last October. According to the report, Snodgrass and other members of his motorcycle club visited a local dining establishment. All of the members were dressed in their club affiliation colors, also known as “cuts”. When the group became loud and unruly they were asked to leave by wait staff, the report shows. The group left, but Snodgrass returned to confront the wait staff that had asked his group to leave. Snodgrass is reported to have said that “no one kicks out” his club, and proceeded to violently attack one of the women wait staff.
