It's a warm welcome back to JOPO in this week's Newplex Podcast, and following on from last episode's deluge of trailers, they keep on coming today! The gang talk Wonder Woman 1984 which triggers Jads into yet another DC rant (we're going to get those under control, promise), and JOPO fills us in on CW's Crisis on Infinite Earth. Plus, why is Miles Morales called Morales when his dad is called Davis? We'll fail to answer all this and more on this week's Newplex Podcast!

It's another week stacked full of movie trailers, my dudes. As Jads and Charles sat waiting patiently for the Wonder Woman 84 trailer that sadly didn't come out in time for this episode, we were instead treated to pretty epic trailers for what will likely be some of 2020's biggest blockbusters. There's a surprise return rumoured for Black Widow, Daniel Craig's 007 swan song looks to be suitably epic, and Mulan has half of this cast incredibly excited (where are the songs and wise-cracking dragons?!). Plus this week's Nerdlines.

With Fox now fully absorbed into the Disney pile (ew), Mutants can finally be brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But with so many characters, stories, and awkward explanations for where they've been this whole time, what is the best way to phase these characters into the biggest movie franchise in the world? Jads and Charles dig into five fan favourite theories, as well as suggesting a couple of their own. Plus, this week's Nerlines and tracks of the week!

Team Newplex member Conor had a big week with the hugely successful debut of his brand new improv comedy show, Level Up. Naturally, Jads, JOPO, and Charles took a road trip (via train - a rail trip?) to support their boy, and this pod is the story of that epic journey. It was the gang's first experience of improv, and Conor & Co. did not dissapoint. Also this week: the Justice League Snyder Cut movement, Nerdlines, and our tracks of the week.

A lot of trailers came out this week, and Jads and Charles are going to review them all! Universal's latest entry into its Dark Universe (which is apparently still a thing), The Invisible Man, sends Jads into an anti-Tom Cruise rage to kick us off. Plus we're talking the latest mainstream Scooby Doo offering, SCOOB! - a new 3D animation from Warner Bros. Then of course there's the new and improved Sonic The Hedgehog trailer, and would it be a Newplex pod without some love for DC's Titans and this week's especially moving West Side Story-inspired scenes. How many tangents can two Newplex members go on and still work their way back to the original conversation? That's a question we'll fail to answer on this week's Newplex Podcast, where a slow news week leads to some of the most random sidetracks you couldn't imagine. SophieMags joins Jads and Charles for this spooky edition of The Newplex Podcast. Because of a strange time warp that occurs with how these episodes are done, we have in fact overshot by a few days and landed on Nov 4th - with the run-up to Christmas now firmly (and cynically) underway. Still, let's not let a small matter like time spoil our fun! This week we take on a scary Halloween quiz and perform terribly, we talk about the wonder or VR gaming, and Jads becomes friends with Dick & Dom.

This week finally saw release of the final trailer for the final film in the Skywalker Star Wars saga, finally. The trailer gave little away in terms of plot, but did it do enough to get Jads and Charles hyped for this final film in this new trilogy? It's been a rocky road to get here - and sadly we're not talking about the delicious dessert. Also this week, we talk about what we'd like to see in the rumoured upcoming Batman: Arkham Legacy video game, plus Nerdlines and tracks of the week.

How does a catchy Seal song spring a whole week of Batman obsession? When that Seal song is 'Kiss From a Rose' of course! After hearing the soulful stomper at the latest Newplex dinner party, Jads, Charles, and JOPO were instantly compelled to watch Batman Forever, which brings us to this podcast today. But that's not all, on this week's Newplex Podcast, Jads and Charles talk the Batman Arkham games, and the all-new creative team taking over the Batman comic series.

Strap yourself in Gothamites for the rambliest Joker review yet (and we've read a lot of 'em...)! Jads, JOPO, and Charles prepare to give the latest take on a Joker origin story scores out of five, and try (and fail) to explain some of the movie's controversy. Why do trendy critics hate it? And who are the 'incels' for whom a narcissistic serial killer is such a hero? If it's left to Jads to explain, we'll never know. But regardless of all that, how does it hold up as a DC story, and how does Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal stack up?

Praise Jebus! Spider-Man has swung back into the MCU! We all figured this was going to happen, but not quite so soon, so Jads and Charles react to the news, and break down what we know about the new deal, and Tom Holland's awesome role in making it happen. Also this week on The Newplex Podcast, a full trailer for DC's Birds of Prey has been released, with a lukewarm reception from the gang. Plus, Finn Balor makes a shock return to NXT as the Wednesday Night Wars officially get underway.

The Newplex turns 50 (episodes)!!!!!! Jads and Charles are joined by friend of the site SophieMags for this milestone episode where the gang chat the latest castings for Matt Reeve's The Batman, the controversy surrounding Joker, and a big night for the Brits at the Emmys. Plus, Charlie talks his return to boxing, and after Jads watched this week's Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, we ponder whether 14 is too young to be a cage fighter.

This week on The Newplex Podcast, Jads and Charlie react to the leaked photos of Titans' Dick Grayson in his Nightwing super suit and continue to be perplexed by Red Robin's transformation into "Drake". This leads us onto a massive tangent about toxic fandoms, including Twitter's terrifying Doctor Who corner (which in turn leads us onto crying about why Doctor Who sucks so much latley). Plus, our IT Chapter 2 review, and tell us who says "Neeeeeewplex" in the intro and win a prize!
