The dynamic duo take to the research notes to bring you the origins, regional variations and how different countries "celebrate" the punishment-dealing antithesis of Saint Nick. If Krampus isn't horrifying enough, Alex brings some festive demons who sometimes accompany our hairy, chain-wielding fiend - featuring Hans Trapp, a child-eating Scarecrow and Pertcha, also known as the 'Belly Slitter'. Not heard much about it? Neither have we - which might explain some things we discuss... anyway, this stars The Rock - Johnson's Red One, featuring MCU alumni Chris Evans (formerly Captain America) and J K Simmons (J Jonah Jameson of Spider-Man... all of the Spider-Man's, in fact....). From animated classics with intro music bangers (Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?), to chipper flute introductions with Bernards Watch, we have quite the selection of TV programmes which will take you all the way back to that golden age of society! Featuring questions on morality around what young Alex & Dan would do if they could harness the power of an Alien space craft (Aquila!), time stopping abilities (Bernards Watch) and infinite wishes (The Queen's Nose!). It also seems the dynamic duo of the south coast slip back into discussions around awakening dormant feelings of the opposite sex as young adolesents - and on safer ground, discuss the joys of plastic figurines much sought-after during 90s Christmasses and the toys which came and went throughout their childhood! Featuring Dolls who seemingly never want to leave, a very dark Hotel where people visit for something other than an overnight stay, a dangerous Paranormal Investigation site and a sighting of a Cryptid - this sounds like it has a volume 1 all over it! In true OTT style, Alex throws an improv scenario at Dan as they role play an awkward cross-country phone call - and they reflect on who you call if you find dead animals in your walls whilst you're redecorating; it's a niche problem, but one it seems can happen.... The duo digress during this session, pitching their epic movie ideas with the pizza-fed New York rodent versus the mutant south coast Seagull (are you in?). This week, we're going back to a simpler time - the 90s. It was a time where you'd get a copy of the local directory, play in the streets and in the woods for hours at a time without a care in the world... and drink cafeinated clear coke like Dan. In a revelation, young Alex enjoyed playing with Polly Pocket (it's 2024, nothing wrong with that!) - but so did a young Dan apparently! From TV shows long forgotten to plastic digital toys the likes of Tamagotchi's - how did they fare? It's an episode of nostalgia, along with plenty of YOUR memories, too - including the notorious flammable shell suit! Who spoilt the film for them 1.5 weeks after release? Does the film suffer from underwhelming villains again? Can the film be simplified in one sentence? All these questions answered - and more! This week, Alex & Dan are hot off the heels of not one, but three (!) On The Go episodes and clearing their back catalogue - the first up is the country-ific (?) tornado disaster sequel film, Twisters! As is usual fare, Dan struggles with some difficult scientific ingredients (to be fair, it is a mouthful!), Alex educates the masses on some real world use of Silver Iodide (because, science!) and there's discussions around red flags and creepy characters. There's the usual favourite bits, not so favourite bits and as a bonus, we have some BTS content on the making of the film. We're turning back the clock to 2007, joining Sony with their 25 years celebrating the famous wall crawler on the cinema screens. What else was popular in 2007? Glad you asked - Gordon Brown was Prime Minister in the UK, it was a year of threequels (Spider-Man 3, Shrek the Third, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End) and there were world-defining events in Banking. The less we talk about the latter, the better. Anyway, for a special On The Go episode, the Dynamic South Coast duo return to the not-so-mean streets of Old Portsmouth to the cinema and back, to bring you their honest thoughts on the final outing of Maguire's solo Spider-Man franchise - with a cacophony of villains and meme-worthy dancing, Alex & Dan reflect on their memories of watching the film when it was a simpler time - and whether it still holds up in the leather recliners all these years later! #GITS
