Nature is a cruel bitch and the boys question why God created certain things in the world. Not questioning his sovereignty but talking about the sucky parts of it. Job is a perfect example of crap and faith. And there are just certain things we will never understand. The boys take a hard transition to prayer. Why do we bow our heads and close our eyes to pray? Daniel prayed while kneeling and got thrown into the lion’s den as a result. But is there a requirement in scripture to pray in a certain posture? There are so many things we learn in Church culture...but how do you unlearn things that are unhealthy or not required for your relationship with God? How do you handle the culture shock of no longer going to church? Your weekends are free, but is your mind? There are things that you do in church culture that no one else does. EP65: Tarnishing the Message of the Bible Sean and Michael catch up after a couple weeks of not recording. Michael buys a new knife set and Sean wonders how quickly it will fail. Sean discovers Tom Collins...but puts his own twist on it. Call it, the “Sean’s Tom Collins”. Then the boys discuss movies and generations. Which leads to a convo about the new 007 movie with Lashana Lynch….side bar, Sean tells a story of how he was named after Sean Connery, but everyone initially thought he was a girl. Interesting story. Then the boys get back to ragging on all the remakes of movies and how Hollywood can’t come up with any new ideas. EP62: Perfection is a False Perception The gang visits Garden of the Gods and Michael finally gets to meet Sasquatch. Secret time: Sean got a ticket on the way to Shawnee National Forest. The boys go to bdubs to watch the fight with Michael’s twin, Dallas. They nerd out about beers, hunting, shaving and whiskey. Michael loved their poop sign-in book on top of the toilet, which sparks a heated debate about poop particles. Then the boys talk about freedom to be themselves. You don’t have to fall into the mold of what other people think you should be. Be unique. Be yourself. Perfection is a false perception. They celebrate their friendship and the freedom they have to be honest and free together. EP61: Michael Visits SO IL The boys are together again for a whole weekend and things get a little cray. This podcast is just the two of them catching up and having fun. Drinks are flowing and Jello shots have been eaten, but there is a disagreement on the proper technique. Michael is introduced to Big John and how life works in SO IL. Tractors, Corn, Soy and beans everywhere. That lead to a rant about Soy and allergies, and the reason why we no longer eat at Green Dot Stables in Detroit. Sean misses Detroit and the boys discuss changes happening in the city. They were both quite passionate about Detroit, so it dominated most of the conversation. Then Sean shares his secret to making strong Jello shots and what they like to drink in Summer time. The Sean let’s one rip and swears there is no smell. EP59: Confidence & Other People’s Opinions The boys talk beer and social media followers. Trying to grow organically through likes and shares. So, we shamelessly ask for help. Sean encourages Michael to do ASMR. It’s kinda weird, but there apparently is an audience for it. Maybe there is a chance to do something different. Then the boys talk about the demons in the computers. For some reason, two weeks in a row, two episodes posted at the same time. The boys eventually get into a deep conversation about the affirmation of people and church and relying on the affirmation of Jesus. We should tell the truth no matter who approves or if you get a pat on the back. No one should decide how you behave in your relationship with God. EP57: Salvation Outside of the Church Sean has a Voodoo Ranger, but thinks it’s a founder. Secret: it’s from New Belgium Brewing. But it’s ok, he talks in a terribly Spanish accent. Then the boys rant about Social Media and the hostile environment online today. Sean doesn’t do much social media anymore and the boys talk about why.
