For thousands and thousands of years we’ve used gold as money. At some stage, whether part of the role out of CBDC’s (Central Bank Digital Currency) or something else, odds are high gold may form the base of a new global reserve currency. Russia, China and others are working on a new currency to trade with, and central banks are gobbling up new supply of gold at a rate not seen since 1967. It could be tempting to think gold will spike in value denominated in USD, but you also have to consider what value the USD has in this scenario too. Getting the ‘what’, the ‘how’ and the ‘when' right, are all needed for this to be a good speculative bet. I'd be cautious here. There’s no guarantee in that future there would even be a marketplace for gold outside of central banks. So is gold going to be useful here for when the train runs out of track? It's at least a theory or at best, mere speculation, that we're already in a new regime, where bonds don't provide the same value in a balanced portfolio. A lot of things don’t work quite the way they normally would have in the past. I guess what’s good about this for the everyday investor keen to push forward with a bit more understanding - given the amount of change afoot, don't worry if you don't have a degree in this stuff already. You could skip the formal education and to be honest, it may make it easier.Central Banks and/or government, have created so many distortions with their interventions, that multiple patches are starting to rip at the seems. Personally, I can’t believe how far something that that can go on for, before things start to break. Then again, perhaps it’s always been broken, and that’s why it kind of why it works (and will always likely work).Both shares, and bonds have been declining at the same time though. There are different types of commercial property investment: Direct, syndicated, un-listed, listed, managed funds, and index funds. On top of that, you have various subsets within the commercial property sector, all with their unique set of pro's and con's to consider. For those who seek either the chance to influence value, or a great source of cashflow in retirement, commercial property should be considered. We're living in very UNSOUND times. Geo-politically, but also financially this is true right now. In order to build new wealth for the new world, we need to consider new containers for this wealth. Ethereum, and other Web-3 digital assets MAY provide an option for open-minded everyday investor. There are 3 things we can do now, to ensure we’re building wealth the new world at a rate which is greater than the effects of inflation, or currency debasement: 1 – We can invest more 2 – We can take higher risk 3 – Or we can keep an open mind I’ve met few who do all three.
