Ep. 16- These 3 Techniques Helped Me Change My Behavior
27/05/2019 Duración: 31minHi and thank you so much for tuning into another episode. This is a great episode where I talk about 3 techniques that helped change my behavior and mindset toward bad habits and negative behavior. NLP ( Neuro-Linguistic Programming) is changing the way we perceive situations and behaviors through shifting the mindset. For me, NLP has helped with binge eating, bad habits, anxiety, nervousness and so much more. The 3 techniques I mention in the episode is: 1. Disassociation - this has helped me reduce my nervousness when I speak onstage. 2. Content reframing - changing my perceived negative thoughts into positive around a negative situation. For example- after a breakup , instead of panicking or being fearful after a breakup, look at that breakup as a positive situation allowing more freedom in your life etc. 3. Anchoring - Anchoring yourself helps you to associate any desired positive emotional response with a particular phrase or sensation. Using these 3 techniques ( which is 3 of many NLP techniques t

Ep. 14- Overcoming Food Guilt
13/05/2019 Duración: 30minHi all, in this episode I chat about food guilt and how to overcome! Remember that Sex and the City episode where Miranda binged on a cookie cake, she even took the cake out of the trash to eat it after throwing it away. She talks to her gals about the guilt and shame she felt around eating the cookie. We have all experienced food guilt at some point in our lives. You might even be experiencing it now after the Mothers day weekend. Food guilt keeps us from really enjoying food and looking at food as fuel. It is super important for us to learn how to manage our attitude toward food because it can work against our weight loss efforts. I also provide 5 actionable tools to start thinking about as you listen to this episode: 1. Commit to enjoying food- once you decide to eat the food ( cupcake, cookie, pizza) start focusing on the positive and give full attention to being mindful when eating that food 2. Don't food shame yourself - words have weight- avoid saying " this cookie will go straight to my thighs". Ta

Ep. 13- Why Putting A Label On Your Food Can Be Dangerous
06/05/2019 Duración: 30minIn this episode I talk about labeling your food and why it can set you up to fail. I recently saw a post Chalene Johnson, fitness legend, posted on her Instagram on food labels. There were 2 plates of the same exact food and one was labeled "paleo" and the other plate with the same food was labeled "and also food". I thought that it was pretty powerful because when we start to label what we are doing we instantly think of the foods we CAN'T have. What happens when we tell ourselves we can't have something ? Well, we want it even more, or in my case I definitely did. Sometimes I look back and cant believe I recommended certain things or use to tell people to stop eating carbs at dinner, or fruit will keep your body from being lean etc. But when we know better we do better and sometimes we have to just go through those times, experience it and grow from it. I feel like a lot of my listeners are to that point where they just want to live this food freedom life and not let it consume you but also have body goa

Ep. 7- Beating Binge Eating with Brittany Brown
25/03/2019 Duración: 44minSo excited for you all to listen to this episode of Coach, Speaker, Creator of the Beating Binge Eating BluePrint and Food Freedom Forever Mastermind Movement, Brittany Brown. I dig deep into the moments that gave me a wakeup call and reminded me that my life is so much more than my body or the food that was consuming me. I give examples as to what you all can do to shift your perspective and mindset. 1. Do not attach your happiness to something tangible or material 2. Gratitude 3. Focus on a passion project, side hustle or hobby that allows you to pull the focus from your body and into that thing you are working on. 4. Focus on strength in the gym vs the scale 5. Ep. 5 - How I Healed My Thyroid
11/03/2019 Duración: 38minIn this episode I go through what I did to heal my thyroid. I mention that you must always consult with your doctor first before doing any of the suggestion recommendations. I also was not diagnosed with Hashimoto's or thyroid disease. I was diagnosed with secondary hypothyroidism brought on by stress and extreme lifestyle. The Thyroid, that pesky little gland that can affect so much! Who knew that the tiny butterfly shaped gland that sits in your neck can affect and regulate the body’s metabolic rate as well as heart and digestive function, muscle control, brain development, energy level and mood. The thyroid gland can become overactive (hyperthyroidism) or underactive (hypothy- roidism). This may, rarely, occur from birth, or develop later on in life. And for me, it was secondary hypothyroidism, which was caused by extreme lifestyle and stress. (Who knew stress could affect thyroid). Hypothyroidism is the term given when low levels of thyroid hormones are produced by the thyroid gland. It may result from

My Thoughts On Intuitive Eating
18/02/2019 Duración: 35minOn this episode I talk about how I currently eat on the daily and that is intuitively. Intuitive eating can be tough to follow when you do not entirely understand what this means. I explain what Intuitive eating means to me and how I practice it daily. Intuitive eating is learning to trust your own hunger cues and an approach developed to help people heal from the side effects of chronic dieting. Making food decisions without experiencing guilt or shame and honors hunger and respects fullness. I believe that there are certain principles that really define Intuitive eating: 1. Mindfulness on what it feels to be "satisfied" and not "stuffed" 2. Honoring your feelings without using food 3. Respecting your body 4. Honoring your hunger 5. Making peace with food This is just the beginning of touching on this topic of Intuitively eating. I hope you enjoy this episode!
