    The Red Sox tagged Corbin Burnes for a career-high 8 earned runs and in the end managed to hold on for a 12-10 win over the Orioles at Camden Yards Friday night.  Red Sox avoided a 3rd straight loss and evened up the series at 1-1 with the win.  The Red Sox clubbed 4 Home Runs and never trailed at any point in the victory.    -----Tristan's Back- Tristan Casas was activated from the Injured List and back in the lineup for the Red Sox Friday night.  Casas singled in his 2nd at-bat in the 3rd Inning and scored in front of Rafael Devers, who wacked his 26th Home Run of the season to give the Red Sox a 4-1 advantage.  Casas started an inning-ending 3-6-3 Double Play in the Bottom of the 2nd. He ended up going 1-for-5 with 2 strikeouts on the night.  -----Kenley Closed The Door: Kenley Jansen struck out 2 and got a groundball out in working a 1-2-3 9th.  Jansen picked up his 23rd save of the season and the 443rd of his Big League career.  It was a bullpen night with the Sox using 8 pitchers.      -----On the Board

The Orioles hit 2 Home Runs in the win and have won 6 of the 1st 7 meetings against the Red Sox this season. The Sox have lost 6 of 8. ----- On the Board 1st: Wilyer Abreu had the Red Sox 1st 2 hits against Orioles starter Zach Eflin.     The Red Sox could not finish off their series sweep against the Texas Rangers Wednesday night, and ended up losing the finale, 9-7, in 10 Innings. The Sox were 1 out away from securing the win, but Wyatt Langford tied the game at 7 in the 9th Inning with a 2-out, 3-run Home Run off of Josh Winckowski. The Red Sox went 2-4 on their Home Stand against Houston and Texas. ----- The Long Ball: The Rangers hit 4 Home Runs in their comeback win over the Red Sox Wednesday night. Adolis Garcia hit 2 Home Runs. Langford's Home Run in the 9th tied the game up and Jonah Heim hit a 2-run shot off of Zack Kelly in the Top of the 10th Inning to put the Rangers in front for good. ----- Quick Responses: The Red Sox answered with runs in the home frame after the Rangers had scored in the top of the inning on 3 different occasions.     The Red Sox made it back-to-back wins and they clinched a series win with Tuesday night's 9-4 win over the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park.  The Red Sox added to a 1-0 lead with 5 runs in the 5th inning.  With taking the 1st 2 Games of the Series, the Sox will go for their 6th series sweep of the season and their 1st of the season at Fenway with Wednesday's series finale.           -----Kutter's Night: Kutter Crawford entered Tuesday's start having allowed 13 Home Runs and 22 runs over his previous 4 outings. Crawford retired the 1st 16 hitters he faced before allowing 3 straight hits with 1 out in the 6th. Crawford exited after giving up an RBI Double to Marcus Semien and a walk to Corey Seager to load the bases.  Cam Booser came in and allowed an RBI singled and walked 2 straight hitters with the bases loaded.  Lucas Sims entered the game and got the final 2 outs to leave the bases loaded.  Crawford did end up with the win to improve his record to 8-9.   #50's Final Line- 5.1 IP. 3 Hits. 4 R. 4 ER. 1 BB. 4 Ks.

    The Red Sox lost their starting pitcher, James Paxton, in the 1st inning and the Sox lost the series finale to the Astros, 10-2, Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park.  The Red Sox have been swept at home for the 2nd straight year in an August series against the Astros and for the 4th time this season.   -----Short Outing for The Big Maple: James Paxton allowed a single to leadoff hitter Jose Altuve on the 1st pitch of the game.  Paxton had 2 outs on just 2 pitches with Alex Bregman hitting into a ground ball double play on the 1st pitch that he saw from Paxton.  Next hitter, Yordan Alvarez reached on an infield single, but on the play, Paxton went to cover 1st and came up hobbling.  He left the game having thrown only 5 pitches and was barely able to put any weight on his right leg.  Red Sox announced that Paxton suffered a right calf strain.    -----On the Board: Astros got their 1st run of the game in the 3rd when Mauricio Dubon scored from 3rd on a wild pitch from Brennan Bernardino.  Astros added on with 5 run

    The Red Sox return to Fenway Park Friday night was not a successful one as the Sox dropped an 8-4 decision in the series opener against the Houston Astros. The Sox have lost 2 in a row overall and 2 in a row at Fenway. The Sox had an opportunity to get to .500 at home for just the 2nd time this season Friday night. ----- Ugly 7th for the Pen: Red Sox took a 3-1 lead to the Top of the 7th Inning. Lucas Sims was the 1st reliever into the game for Boston. Sims gave up a leadoff Triple to Jake Meyers, struck out the next hitter and then gave up a game-tying, 2-run Home Run to Jose Altuve. The Astros ended up scoring 4 runs in the inning (all 4 charged to Sims) and collected 7 hits (6 in a row at 1 point) in the 7th after managing just 4 hits over the 1st 6 Innings. ----- Ugly 7th Part II: Sox threated in the home 7th but were turned away and ended up leaving the bases full.
