A Supernatural View of Acts 2, Pentecost 2021

As most of us know, it is also a Jewish feast, officially called "The Feast of Weeks." 50 days after Passover. Tongues of fire. 3,000 were added to the brand new church of Jesus Christ. But there is more to Pentecost than a birthday celebration and souls saved and people fluently speaking in languages they had never learned. For Pentecost really was a declaration of war. In ways we in as 21st Century Western Christianity never imagined. Speaking in tongues was not even the beginning of the Supernatural View of Acts 2. Come with the Grace United crew as we explore the supernatural worldview of First Century Jews--among the first hearers of the book of Acts.

The Corinthian Correspondence, Part 51; 2 Corinthians 12:11-21 "From Sarcasm to Sorrow"

And it doesn't seem as though the apostles, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit would even use something as potentially damaging as sarcasm in their letters. But "desperate times call for desperate measures." What were the desperate times Paul and the Corinthians found themselves in? How can the Lord use this passage, to include sarcasm and sorrow, for our benefit? But there have been many who have not heeded this advice, sometimes to their own destruction. As spiritual children of any age, we are to take this to heart when it comes to spiritual things peddled by false teachers. But with so much teaching, how can we discern truth from error? Paul's enemies did their level best to convince the Christians in Corinth that Paul was not faithful in the "little things" and therefore could not be trusted in the big things--like giving them the gospel. A big question: did the false teachers succeed in convincing the Corinthians that Paul was unfaithful? How did Paul handle this charge against him? And what does this mean for us today? In a word? Jesus alluded, "So many roads to follow. He said, 'There's one.'" When it comes to things pertaining to eternal life which road are you on? The Lord's Supper, Winter, 2021: "Testimony"

It is his or witness to the truth as they saw it. When a testimony is given, what comes out sometimes costs the witness his or her life. What was the testimony of Jesus. He said, "For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world." What was this purpose? What was his testimony? And what did it cost him to declare it?
