It’s going to be wild though because juiced-up men in jumpsuits (Nailz?) are under hypnosis to murder the island inhabitants, pop their heads and disintegrate their necks. Batman and Alfred seek to intervene Alfred get abducted, dangled from a helicopter and strung up for shark bait. It is up to Batman to get partially nude, sacrifice some innocent civilians and save his butler. Can he do it? Concluding its time to get clean, Bats locks himself in the Batcave for a full month with no toiletries and possibly no toilet. Bats is out in the streets — dressed like The Question for some reason — pummeling thugs for intel so hard he (and we) forget why he’s doing it. We also bear witness to Batman expertly throwing a refrigerator at some crooks. The Savage Dragon [vol 1] #3 (1992)We complete our run on the Savage Dragon mini-series this week as Dragon returns from a six-day nap to brawl with Bedrock, Youngblood’s answer to Ben Grimm or Blok from Legion of Super-Heroes. Chicago is in even WORSE shape since Dragon’s been out as Skullface and the poorly dressed Overlord make threatening phone calls and have disastrous Zoom meetings. The Savage Dragon [vol 1] #2 (1992)Carrying on with the saga of The Savage Dragon, we pick up the Dragon in the Chicago sewers looking for an obese spider man (as opposed to Spider-Man or Spider-Ham). Dragon’s been running ragged fighting crime and almost gets some companionship from his Daisy Dukes wearing neighbor gal. Unfortunately, Hellrazor and his cronies have taken over the mall, sat on ALL the chairs in the Brookstone and finished off the entirety of the bourbon chicken in the food court, leaving the Windy City paralyzed with fear. The Savage Dragon [vol 1] #1 (1992)We don’t get around to messing with too many Image Comics but Savage Dragon is a great place to start. Outlandish in story and execution, the mighty Erik Larsen gives us a lot to talk about. For example, why does Savage Dragon have so much body hair despite being a reptilian? Is he of Mediterranean descent? Will the hair removal product Nair do the trick? Tigra then has a date with a beat cop that gets interrupted by Zabo the Diaper Bodyguard. Marvel Team-Up #126 (1983)We wrap our run on Marvel Team-Up with a deliberately lazy issue featuring a random back-up story with Luke Cage and Hellstorm and a Spider-Man comic strip reprint featuring the HulkIn the first story, Luke and Damian find a dead body and follow the brimstone trail to a demon worshipping party for Satannish aka Kirkland Signature Satan. Action ensues as Luke throws a couch and Hellstorm sets his trident to “ash.”Later, Hulk loses his marbles in NYC and awesomely demolishes a police cruiser with a lamppost. You see, Reddy got sad over something again and impulsively quit the League to resume his normal life as a Yul Brenner lookalike in NYC. He assembles an instant family in the span of 20 minutes and goes to a Halloween parade in February where he is attacked by Doctor Destiny and his “bad dream machine” that only makes you see giant bugs. We also question the potentially lewd placement of Justice League cameras throughout NYC. The Flash #266 (1978)We tackle The Flash in this week’s episode as Barry faces the challenge of a 100% fully functioning Heat Wave. Heat Man here has to overcome his fear of the cold by having his insane therapist throw buckets of ice at him. This plan to defeat The Flash comes to include the desecration of a frozen corpse and the permanent maiming of house servants via furious body shaking. Thankfully, Barry is a maniac so he obliges.There’s also a Kid Flash back-up where Wally loses his speed powers to a desperate thief only to get electrocute said thief and get his powers back. Marvel Team-Up #113 (1982)This week, we start off 2022 with Spider-Man and Quasar having a contentious team-up to defeat the ghost of the Lightmaster. Spidey get his sense working and skips out on graduate class yet again, raising the concern of his wanton disregard for educational funding. Adventure Comics #450 (1977)In our last book of the year, we take a look at something from Aquaman’s ADVENTURE COMICS run where a crippling tragedy DIDN’T happen. Here, Arthur takes on the Weather Wizard, who has stolen a secret government sex toy that will help him defeat The Flash. A bunch of nonsense happens in the Bermuda Triangle and we ultimately conclude that an octopus makes a terrible babysitter. We also have a short back-up story with Martian Manhunter avenging the death of his muppet friend. Apparently, the murderer was an Earth human and J’onn runs afoul of Supergirl, who fights him off in various sexy poses.
