In fact, she was teaching with such gusto that I had to build a short glossary of terms she used: Hyperbolic discounting - This is a concept from behavioral economics that describes the tendency to discount a reward more the longer it will be delayed. Cognitive load - This it the idea that people have a limited cognitive capacity for information or mental activity at any given time, based on the limits of working (or short-term) memory.
