Within each of us is "inner furniture" that inhibits our full life in God. They can be past hurts, stereotypes, bad memories, religious wounds, and even our images of God. The evil spirit tries to protect the ego, which is just another word for the masks of self-importance and superiority we wear as individuals and groups.
