One of the difficult truths about life is that trouble and hardship come to us all. We cannot escape the brokenness. And yet, in the face of great trouble, Jesus calls us to take heart because he has overcome the world. In Jesus, we cannot escape the greatness of God. John 3:22-31 and Matthew 11:1-6.

Just before His death and resurrection, Jesus met with his disciples for the Passover meal. But before they ate, Jesus did something unforgettable, He washed their dirty feet. In this one simple act, Jesus reveals to us the most powerful tool of influence anyone or any organization has: the power of serving others.

One Another. Research shows that it takes seven positive statements to counter one negative. We all know how a spirit of negativity can lead to discouragement and a lack of motivation. This can be especially true for a church. God has given the church one of the most potent tools in its relational toolkit – a tool that costs nothing but can change everything. Few habits that a church adopts can deliver like the power of encouragement. Hebrews 10:23-25

Believers for centuries have used hospitality not only as a virtue, but as a means of demonstrating God’s love to others in tangible ways.
