We begin a new series this week entitled, “What If?” In this opening message we look at those moments when the question is most on our minds and how it affects our decisions and direction in life.

The church, it represents different things to different people. For some it is a place of hope, for others, a place of hurt. In this message we go back to the first mention of the church by Jesus where he proclaimed that he would build his church and nothing would be able to stop it.

In this message we delve deeper into understanding the Spirit of God as a vital ingredient in the life of a church.

"Who's got your back?"

Jesus reserved his harshest words for the religious leaders of his day. Understanding what upset him helps us to see the potential hazards that come with seeking religion for its own sake.

Are there times when our perceived religious duty actually causes another person to stumble in their faith?

What responsibility do believers have to judge those outside of the church, especially those who are not believers?

How are we to judge those who are part of the church? Is there a responsibility that we have when it comes to dealing with fellow believers?

One of the main criticisms of Christianity is our tendency to be judgmental. How are we to “judge” the people and circumstances around us?

t can be one of the most fearful commandments Jesus gives us, especially in a world hostile to one single truth and the reality of hell. Nevertheless, until we understand “the great commission” we cannot fully understand God’s heart for the church.

The message this week deals with something every person of faith strives for: to grow deeper in faith. But what does growing in faith really look like? Does it look the same for everyone? How should we evaluate it?

An old proverb states that many hands make light work. Nowhere is this truer than in the church, where everyone matters and everyone has something to contribute. In this week’s message we look at the importance of serving and the difference it makes; not only in the life of the larger body, but in a person’s personal spiritual development.

The church. Whether you love it or hate it, it is an integral part of God’s plan for the world. Though it was established by Jesus and given a specific purpose and mission, we can sometimes forget what Christ prescribed and create churches in our own image. Especially when it comes to worship.

We have spent the last few weeks talking about brokenness, both in the world around us and in our personal lives. During today’s Easter message, we are reminded that brokenness does not have the final say. The resurrection of Jesus set in motion a new hope and a new reality. One that takes our brokenness and transforms us into new creations.
