What a sad day as Tar Heel fans and college basketball fans. Not only has college basketball come to the end of another year, that little school down the road fell into another championship. I will close out the overall college basketball season by discussing the Final Four games and of course the championship game (as quickly as I can). Sadly on this Monday we are coming off another loss to Duke and this time it's to end our regular season. That leaves the Tar Heels at 21-10 overall and 11-7 in the ACC heading into the tourney season. After blowing out the Yellow Jackets of Georgia Tech, the Tar Heels do it again. They come out and play horrible basketball and lay an egg against Rival NC State! The North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils squared off in yet another instant classic game between the schools separated by just 8 miles. What has become accepted as the greatest rivalry in college basketball and quite possibly all of sports did not disappoint. With Duke pulling out quickly, UNC making the comeback and pushing their lead to 10-points in the second half before relenting it back to Duke to cause overtime.  In this podcast I give my takeaways and opinions on the first of two regular season match-ups between the 2 blue bloods and hated rivals. Some tough times have come to Chapel Hill since the last podcast. Of course, we all know about the passing of legendary Coach Dean Smith, plus the Tar Heels went 1-1 losing to Pitt. However, what everyone (ESPN) is talking about is the UNC/Duke game on Wednesday. North Carolina is sitting at 5th in the ACC, 1 game behind Duke, but have also lost 3 of the last 4 games heading into the first match-up.   I briefly discuss the BC and Pitt games, but most of the podcast is dedicated to our rivals down the road. Who will stop Okafor? Can we guard the 3? Do we have a chance? Also, what is wrong with the Tar Heels? The winning streak is over...the Heels had their 6 game winning streak snapped on Saturday in Louisville, losing to the Cardinals in OT after leading by as many as 18 in the second half. With a quick turnaround, UNC hosted #3 Virginia on Monday and the Cavaliers once again pulled away in the second half to bring the Tar Heels to 7-3 in the ACC and 17-6 overall. With a little big of a break here playing just 1 game in the next 11 days, can the Heels get healthy? Is is just a health issue? UNC has now won 6 ACC games in a row, 11 of their last 12 games overall! Are they peaking too early? Is is just because most of them have been at home? Or are they really this good and just getting better?   This week I look back on the Wake Forest, FSU, and Syracuse wins and the different ways they have done it. Is Carolina basketball changing?
