The Tar Heels are onto the Sweet 16! Let's talk a little about the first weekend & UNC's wins over Florida Golf Coast & Providence. The Tar Heels closed out the season with wins against Syracuse and Duke to win the ACC regular season crown outright! That gives them the 1 seed in the ACC tournament as well as putting them in good position for a 1 seed in the NCAA tourney! We will talk about all of that this week, preview the ACC tournament with some predictions and also touch on the All-ACC teams. The Tar Heels are now 4-0 in ACC play (knock on wood) for the first time in Roy's tenure at UNC and still rolling! Back up to #5 in the latest polls and looking strong. This past week we had the FSU win (The Brice Game) and a win at Syracuse in Boehiem's return. Both really good road conference wins! The Tar Heels dropped another game to another unranked team in Texas, losing on a buzzer beater! Should it have counted? Let's discuss! Then UNC returned home for a dominant victory over Tulane! After going through the game with Davidson it is now time to look ahead. #3 ranked UNC heads to Austin, TX to take on the Texas Longhorns in Shaka Smart's first year on Saturday afternoon. The Tar Heels survived Wofford, then suffered their first loss of the season to Northern Iowa. UNC finished up winning the CBE Hall of Fame Classic pulling away from Northwestern and then struggled past Kansas St. Questions to be asked: Did we or anyone get better without Paige? Can we hit outside shots consistently? Are we really a contender? Britt or Berry? What about Brice or Kennedy? Should Hicks be starting? We did find Justin Jackson though!
