This story, possibly more than any Encounter we've talked about so far, demonstrates the heart of the Gospel: the incredible love God has for us. Everything we have is a gift from Him. And, In the midst of tragic loss or trials and tribulations, God gives us His perfect, unending grace. You are not alone!

Everyone is afraid of something, making fear of one the most influential forces in our lives. But it doesn't have to be! As we enter the new year whatever may cause you to be anxious or nervous about the days to come, you can choose to face it with FAITH instead of FEAR! "For God did not give us a spirit fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7

There are so many things that can keep us from reaching out to Christ. Maybe you've never truly encountered His life-changing grace. Or, perhaps you've been "bumping into Him" like the crowd in this story, coming to church for years, going through the motions, but never reaching out in faith to accept His love and healing. Maybe you've just been waiting for God to answer a prayer in your life while watching God answer the prayers of those around you and you feel like giving up. Wherever you are, regardless of what you've done (or haven't done), the best thing you can do is reach out to Jesus. He is faithful and uniquely able to handle all our needs, in every season!

What would happen if we made it our mission to share the power of the Gospel with those around us like the men found in the story in Mark 5? These men carried their friend in desperation to Jesus because they believed He possessed the power to heal him. While critical religious leaders said it couldn't be done, Jesus recognized their incredible faith and healed their friend. Let's be a church that is known more for what we are for than what we're against. Let's be the friends that do whatever it takes to see the power of Jesus in action.

It's no secret our city and world are experiencing a great amount of turmoil. In times like these, it can become difficult to love people. But what if we set our opinions aside and decided to be the light Christ calls us to be as the Church? We are carriers of the most life-giving, hope-filled message on earth. It's time to "cast our nets" and be Jesus for our city, our country and our world.

So many of us return to the same unhealthy habits, relationships and circumstances that hold us back. We try to handle it on our own and avoid dealing with the real issues. But Jesus offers a completely fresh start. If you want to experience true freedom, you have to start with Jesus!

Jesus encountered many people during His time on earth. This week Pastor Josh talked about His encounter with Nicodemus. It was during this one-on-one conversation that Jesus delivered some of His most famous, life-changing words: "For this is how God loved the world: He gave[a] his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."

In this last message in the Four Cups series we hear about God's desire for us to be fulfilled. He has given us skills and gifts that are meant to be used to help others. That being said, many people are not truly fulfilled because they're not "in the game." We weren't meant to live life on the sidelines. Discover your God given gifts and live a life of purpose!

God saved you for a purpose and He created you with specific gifts to accomplish it. You have the potential already inside you to make a difference in the world around you, so what are you waiting for? Discover your God given gifts and watch as His masterpiece plan unfolds in your life.

Life experiences can leave us wounded and with a skewed perspective. God not only wants to save us, He wants to deliver us from the residue of past hurts. He wants us to live a life freedom!

In this message Pastor Josh reviews the story found in John 6:1-13 that talks about the little boy and the feeding of the "5,000." He encourages everyone to recognize "what's in their hand" and allow God to transform it into something great.
