Psalm 18:1-5 1 I love you,Lord, my strength. 2 The Lord is my rock,my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,my shield and the horn of my salvation,my stronghold. 3 I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies. 4 The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. 5 The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.

PSALM 33:6-9 6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars he puts the deep into storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the people of the world revere him. 9 For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.

Psalm 49:1-11 1 Hear this, all you peoples;     listen, all who live in this world, 2 both low and high,     rich and poor alike: 3 My mouth will speak words of wisdom;     the meditation of my heart will give you understanding. 4 I will turn my ear to a proverb;     with the harp I will expound my riddle: 5 Why should I fear when evil days come,     when wicked deceivers surround me— 6 those who trust in their wealth     and boast of their great riches? 7 No one can redeem the life of another     or give to God a ransom for them— 8 the ransom for a life is costly,     no payment is ever enough— 9 so that they should live on forever     and not see decay. 10 For all can see that the wise die,     that the foolish and the senseless also perish,     leaving their wealth to others. 11 Their tombs will remain their houses forever,     their dwellings for endless generations,     though they had named lands after themselves.  

Psalm 33:1-5 1 Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. 2 Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. 3 Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. 4 For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. 5 The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love.

Psalm 139:1-6 1 You have searched me, Lord,     and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise;     you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down;     you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue     you, Lord, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before,     and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,     too lofty for me to attain.

Psalm 33:16-22 16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save. 18 But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, 19 to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine. 20 We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. 21 In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. 22 May your unfailing love be with us,Lord, even as we put our hope in you.
