Much of 1 Thessalonians illuminates the wonderful blessing of the communion of saints. In these opening verses, Paul expresses profound thanks for these believers and expresses it in several ways. GREETING (1:1) GRATITUDE (1:1-5a)

We saw in the first ten verses of Ezra chapter 7 the appearance of Ezra on the scene as he brings a second group of exiles from Babylon to Jerusalem. In the last part of chapter 7 emphasis will be put on the grace of God working through King Artaxerxes. Here we see the grace of God working through Ezra and God's people. GOD'S PROVIDENCE (7:11-26) EZRA PRAISES GOD (7:27-28)

Moses warns Israel that were not to forget the Lord by worshipping other gods. REMEMBER GOD'S GOODNESS REMEMBER GOD'S WRATH REMEMBER GOD'S WORD

When David was in trouble and his enemies rejoiced over him, he called out to God and God answered him. David then responded to God's deliverance by praising him. By looking at the way David prayed, we can learn how we also ought to pray to God in times of adversity and in times of prosperity. Darius has insured a decree which he demanded that it should be done with due diligence and the leaders follow through with the demand. The temple is finished through divine agency as well as human agency. The temple is dedicated with great joy. And we see the celebration of the Passover and Unleavened Bread because of the goodness of the LORD. Surely the LORD has been to Israel after a long period of time teaching us to trust the LORD with all our heart and not lean on our understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
