  • Marc Delucchi explains the issues that are ailing Hawaii football

    08/12/2021 Duración: 01h07min

Jeremy and Matt are joined freelance journalist Marc Delucchi who wrote an excellent piece at SFGate.com regarding Hawaii football and some of the internal issues that players are having with head coach Todd Graham. The situation is not good as many players are in the transfer portal which includes multiple starters such as QB Chevan Cordeiro and RB Dae Dae Hunter. There is a strife between players and Graham in how he treats certain players on this team which is not good, and it has caused some players to just give up football due to his actions. Yet, the response from Graham and even some local media is not reassuring that change will happen. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

  • Colorado State poaches Nevada's Jay Norvell as its next head coach

    07/12/2021 Duración: 55min

Jeremy and Josh are back again to discuss Colorado State's ruthless hire of bringing in Jay Norvell to be its next head coach. Norvell was previously Nevada's head coach and this is the first time in the Mountain West that a head coach has taken the same job within the league. Resources are a big reason why this move was made as Norvell was making $625,000 per which ranked near the very bottom of the Mountain West coaches. Colorado State pays a lot more and will give him over a million dollars per year. There is also the commitment to football that seemingly is higher up on the priority at Colorado State than Nevada. • 2021 Mountain West Football Title Game Recap

    06/12/2021 Duración: 56min

Jeremy and Matt are back to recap the unexpected result of the 2021 Mountain West football title game which saw Utah State win 46-13 over San Diego State. There is a lot that went on in that game including San Diego State having 20 players -- majority reserves -- out due to COVID-19 and/or contact tracing. The Aggies played arguably their best game and the Aztecs did not which led to the blowout result. Everything basically went right for Utah State and their gameplan and specifically on offense going downfield in the passing game. The Aztecs uncharacteristically had special teams issues. They also give a first look at the eight Mountain West bowl games. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Jeremy and Matt are back to talk about the craziness that is the first few days of the "offseason" in college football. Fresno State's Kalen DeBoer is off to Washington as very well could be QB Jake Haener. The portal in general is on fire with a lot of movement already happening. One of the biggest news items was that Hawaii players hosted a Twitter Spaces and basically called out the program and specifically head coach Todd Graham. We only listened to snippets so there is a lot we missed but safe to say, players aren't happy. We also discussed Colorado State's Steve Addazio but he has since been reportedly let go hours after this recording. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

    18/11/2021 Duración: 01h21min

The loser is all but out of their respective division race as each have two losses. This is a game where the Wolf Pack must figure out how to stop the Falcons ground attack if they are going to win. UNLV hosts San Diego State in a rare 8:30 p.m. PT kick off and this one likely will not be close. The same can be said for Boise State vs. New Mexico. The Lobos are still without quarterback Terry Wilson and that will cause some issues. Hawaii hosts Colorado State in an interesting game on the islands that could get weird. Wyoming vs. Utah State has the potential to get out of hand if the Aggies offense continues to play like it has the past few weeks. The Cowboys defense is good but it will need to be really good to keep pace with the Aggies. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

There are a few teams that are trying to become bowl eligible such as the winner between Boise State and Wyoming will get to six wins. San Jose State is also looking to become bowl eligible and it might help that they have Nick Starkel back under center. He returned to action last week and he might be the reason the Spartans get to bowl eligibility when they face Utah State this weekend. Expect a lot of points in that game and for it to blow past the over that is at 57.5. One of the other big games is Nevada going on the road to face San Diego State in a game that could shape the West Division. The Aztecs will be in the drivers seat if they get the win but if the Wolf Pack win it would create some chaos and for us to take a look at the tiebreaker situations.
