On the first Sunday of Lent, Dr. Bell kicks off a Lenten sermon series on the topic of Prayer, beginning with a truly great passage -- Romans 826-39.

While we do not know everything Mary knew when she said yes, we do know that she agreed to a difficult journey knowingly as a pregnant, unwed young girl. She also knew and had faith, however, in the coming peace she was entrusted to carry into a troubled world. We too are called, elected by God -- and like Mary, we can say yes! because God is with us, within us.

In this sermon, Dr. Bell explores the challenging Parable of the Talents, choosing to focus on the man who buried his talent. Dr. Bell posits that the man did so out of fear, which implies he lacked saving faith. True faith gives great courage.
