This week, I've got info on MashCraft Brewing, which opened for business this past week. Bloomington Brewing will be releasing their Rooftop IPA in bottles this week in the Indianapolis area. Indian Brewers' Cup registration is now open. Tickets for the Indiana Microbrewer's Fest are on sale. Iechyd Da has a new outdoor beer garden. And as usual, there's a plethora of events coming up in the next couple months, including several beer festivals. 

Support local Indiana brewer, Chris Gerard, by stopping at Three Pints brewpub on June 10th, or Tomlinson Tap Room throughout the month of June. Chris suffered a brain injury a few weeks ago and although he's expected to recover, your help is appreciated. Events this week from Sun King Brewing, the Elbow Room Pub, Scarlet Lane brewing, Four Fathers Brewing, Flat 12 Bierwerks, Burn 'Em Burning, Shoefly Publich House, and MashCraft Brewing. Other events this week include the Anderson Brewfest, Upland Upcup homebrew competition, and Evansville Zoo Brew. 

This week I've got an update on a story from last week. The family of Chris Gerard has set up a page on Crowdrise.com to help with his medical bills. Chris took a bad fall a couple weeks ago and sustained a serious brain injury. It's the American Craft Beer Week edition of Indy Beer News. Daredevil has news on their new production brewery as New Albanian suspends food service indefinitely at the Bank Street Brewhouse.  Scarlet Lane has postponed thier launch party until next week with hopes of better weather.  American Craft Beer Week brings events from Triton Brewing, Tin Man Brewing, Bloomington Brewing Company, and Tomlinson Tap Room. Don't forget about Crown Beer Fest and the Sour Wild and Funk fest, both on Saturday. 

Tomlinson Tap Room has opened their outdoor patio, it'll be open Thursday - Saturday.  Big Red Liquors is celebrating the grand opening of their downtown location, they'll have sales and tastings Thursday and Friday this week.  I've found 14 new beer tappings from the past week, and events from Fat Dan's Deli, Triton Brewing, Sun King Brewing, Flat 12 Bierwerks, Broad Ripple Brewpub, Carson's Brewery, Burn 'Em Brewing, Mad Anthony's and Mass Ave Pub. 

After a week off doting on my newborn baby daughter, it's time to get back at it! HopCat Broad Ripple will be opening this August. The Grand Rapids based craft beer bar will feature 130 draft lines.  The Pint Room is now open in Carmel. 124 draft lines there. The Upland sour lottery for Persimmon and Peach lamics, as well as Darksynth will be open until May 7th. Winners to be notified on May 9th.  Books & Brews has a new reading rewards program. Check out the Beer Barons Bloomington Craft Beer Fest wrapup, Congrats to Carsons, Sun King Brewing and Three Wise Men on their World Beer Cup awards. Scarlet Lane will be launcing at Fire by the Monon on May 14th. Registration for judges and stewards is now open for the Brewers Cup. Kahn's sells their downtown location. I had the opportunity to sit down with Clay Robinson, President of the Brewers of Indiana Guild, and talk about some of the beer related legislation coming up in 2014. From beer at the state fair to artisan distilleries (yes, they're beer related) to beer at farm markets, Clay gives his perspective and some explanation of what these laws could mean if they pass.
