What a way to make a living! (Not podcasting, that's no kinda way to make a living.) The comedy classic 9 TO 5 was a surprisingly huge hit that basically predicted how we'd feel about work 40 years later. So: Is it still fun to watch? (Look at that cast, of course it is.) There's a lot of grumbling in this week's recommendations, but Robin liked LADY SINGS THE BLUES, Kahmeela enjoyed THE LAZARUS EFFECT and Sean sings the praises of ... DEATH SPA?

We are LIVE from Row House Cinema for our first ever mystery movie! We put 11 movies on a big ol' wheel, and it landed on a Pittsburgh classic! We're just some Steel Town girls on a Saturday night (really, recorded on a Saturday), and we're revisiting the montages, the leg warmers, the erotic shellfish and the unacceptable power dynamics of this toe-tapping hit! Note: We picked up some static here and there in recording, so you'll here some microphone noise on the recording. Sorry about that!

A long, long time ago, there was this Barbara Streisand musical about past lives, psychic powers and runaway plant growth. It had the clunky title ON A CLEAR DAY YOU CAN SEE FOREVER, and we (and no one else for the last four decades) watched it! This week's recommendations: Kahmeela is all in on VIOLENT NIGHT. Sean saw AVA2AR again, also likes TILL. Robin loved THE WOMAN KING and has a story about DUAL.

Yippie ki yay, everyone! We can't cover the Christmas classic DIE HARD because it didn't actually go to number one. Fortunately, its sequel is also a Christmas movie! And it's ... you know, more Die Hard stuff! With planes! Hopefully you're not currently stuck in a seasonal travel nightmare, but if you are, you'll relate hard! This week's recommendations: Robin gives qualified endorsements to TRIANGLE OF SADNESS and PEARL, Kahmeela likes THE WOMAN KING, Sean ... want all-in on AVA2AR???

It's a Christmas classic! Lights, tinsel, holiday gatherings, creepy masks, deeply weird cult stuff ... you know, the holidays! Stanley Kubrick simultaneously wrapped up his career and his life with EYES WIDE SHUT, a dreamlike odyssey about being absolutely gobsmacked that your wife might be attracted to other people from time to time. Who on our panel loved this oddity and who hated it? (You already know.) This week's recommendations: Kahmeela recommends some Christmas movies! Robin likes SHE SAID and THE FABLEMANS! Sean hijacks the show to gripe uselessly about Hollywood politics!

Dun dun dun dun, dun dah dah! Special guest Jim Kiley joins us, and he's picked a doozy: RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, the biggest film of 1981 and one of the biggest franchise-launching blockbusters of all time. With three of us having seen this dozens of times, what will jump out? And which member of our panel is coming to this fresh? Recommendations: Jim likes BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER, Robin has thoughts on 1979 horse cinema classic(?) THE BLACK STALLION, Kahmeela gives a qualified endorsement to SMILE and Sean predictably enjoyed THE MENU.

One week after breaking our ratings scale with Get Out, we're talking about another entry on the short list of horror films to become Oscar darlings, SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. Will we add this to our overall Top 10, or does it get the hose again? This week's recommendation is BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER, obviously! And, to a somewhat lesser extent, CRIMES OF THE FUTURE and DEAR ZOE.

It's a very special episode, as we wrap up Spooky Season with a masterpiece! Five years later, Jordan Peele's GET OUT has only risen in reputation, and the director has become a horror maestro. Will we have ANYTHING to complain about? And what makes this episode so special? (Stay tuned for the ratings to find out.) We've got spooky recommendations for your Halloween! Kahmeela likes BARBARIAN, Sean is if anything a little overly enthusiastic about BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA and Robin has unexpectedly disappeared down a NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET rabbit hole.

They were remaking pretty much every horror movie back in the '00s, and eventually Hollywood got around to (kinda) rebooting the slasher gem PROM NIGHT. Sure, it had Idris Elba, but it didn't have much connection to the original (or an R rating). Will our panel of grinning ghosts find anything to like about this much maligned revival? Your recommendations: Kahmeela likes NANNY, Robin was charmed by DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS and Sean is HELLRAISER-curious.

We don't want to alarm anyone here, but we're pretty sure this son is not good. Tiny Macaulay Culkin and even tinier Elijah Wood squared off in this surprisingly dark, surprisingly New England thriller; is it a '90s classic or more of an overblown TV movie? And speaking of TV movies, this week's recommendations are all about CHILD IN THE NIGHT! Listen to find out what the hell that is.

It's time for the show's oldest — and LONGEST — movie yet! The 1963 ensemble comedy It's a Mad (four times) World featured every funny person in the world, made a ton of money and had a staggeringly long theme song. Nearly 60 years later, can this one make our hosts laugh, or will it suffer the fate that a number of comedy classics have on the show? This week's recommendations: Robin has ample thoughts on Elvis. Sean likes everything, but especially Barbarian. Kahmeela recommends Honk for Jesus (with qualifications) and Who Invited Them (after explaining what it is).

He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy! People who are very enthusiastic about British comedy consider Life of Brian to be one of the best movies ever made. We ... certainly wouldn't say that. Mixed thoughts. Good bits, though! No objection to the bits! This week's recommendations: Sean's unpopular opinion is that THE INVITATION is good actually; Kahmeela's unpopular opinion is that the ORPHAN prequel is good actually; Robin just likes erotic thrillers like 1990's SHATTERED.

The pen is blue! When we drew LIAR LIAR, all three of our hosts were pretty sure it was pretty good. Would this be that beautiful moment when we revisit an old comedy and find it's still funny and delightful? Or would it be like, you know, most of the other times? This week's recommendations: Sean likes BODIES BODIES BODIES, but everyone knew he would. Robin is on board with both PREY and THE GRAY MAN. Kahmeela was fine with DAY SHIFT.

One of the biggest hits of the 70s and biggest Oscar successes of all time was the NOMIA for a big chunk of 1976. How does it look nearly a half-century later? Interesting! Good? Undoubtedly full of cigarettes. Robin loves MARCEL THE SHELL, Sean shrugs at a bunch of movies but recommends ANYTHING'S POSSIBLE and Kahmeela is very satisfied by THE GREY MAN!

Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman go to prison! And try to survive/get out/not get thrown back in, over and over again, for like ... their whole lives, pretty much? We try. Boy, do we try. Don't worry, there are plenty of other subjects, like a strenuous objection to Bob's Burgers and whether or not Dustin Hoffman was ever hot. This episode's recommendations: Kahmeela likes THE BLACK PHONE, Sean likes MARCEL THE SHELL, Robin felt pretty good about THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER but tune in to hear about what recent semi-hit she totally hates!

The first new number-one movie of the millennium was NEXT FRIDAY, the sequel to the mid-90s classic. But with the loss of Chris Tucker, as well as Ice Cube's devastating lack of interest in anything but the soundtrack, is there anything to love this time around? In recommendations, Sean likes ELVIS, Kahmeela loves IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT and Robin went to Dollywood.

Vampires! Priests! Lots of unmotivated anger! Horror maestro John Carpenter was winding down his time behind the camera by the late '90s; is his very aggressive bloodsucking western a hidden gem or better off dead? This week's recommendations: Robin is a fan of FIRE ISLAND. Kahmeela finally got on board the EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE train, but she's mostly raving about THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF STAGGERING GENIUS. Sean gets over his dinosaur disappointment to give a cool recommendation to LIGHTYEAR.

BLAZING SADDLES is widely seen as a comedy classic, and many people grew up with it — but one of our hosts is coming to it for the first time. How does Mel Brooks' western satire look in 2022? Recommendations! Kahmeela likes THE DEVIL YOU KNOW, Robin can't help falling in love with MOONFALL and Sean gives a shockingly lukewarm opinion on 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY for some reason.

My man! And also Russell Crowe. Denzel Washington led AMERICAN GANGSTER to a surprisingly big box-office haul for an R-rated, original movie. Will all the cool moments and chinchilla coats make up for the fact that this movie doesn't actually have a third act? In recommendations ... honestly, we mostly complain about FIRESTARTER and OLD. Sean liked DOWNTON ABBEY, anyway, and Robin is firmly on board the EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE train.
