This sermon was preached on the occasion of Pastor Grant beginning a new, FT "tent making" job help continue with the ministry at PRPC. Looking at Paul, Aquila, and Priscilla for examples, we see that the ministry of God's Word throughout the world may sometimes involve trade work of its ministers. God's people strengthen themselves in the Lord by waiting on Him courageously. Wait on the LORD Courageously.

God's people never give up on Him. Wait on the LORD Constantly.

Servants of Jesus as their Master will trust Him to serve Him and be supplied by Him. Wait on the LORD in Trust.

A soul waiting on the LORD is found waiting in His Word.
 Wait on the LORD in His Word.

We who watch for the LORD will want to be watched over by and witness in righteous integrity. Wait on the LORD in Your Integrity.

God's people take present hope in God due to a certain future in Him. Wait on the LORD in Hope.

Christians are to follow their elders' guidance to not grieve them and for their own good. Encourage Your Elders.

The Lord restores us to Himself and thus to ourselves. The Lord Restores Your Soul.

For God's people to be strong and possess themselves and their inheritance, they must keep all His commandments. To be Strong in the Lord be Obedient to Him.

Because of God's greatness He alone is to be greatly praised and revered above all. The Lord is Great and Greatly to be Praised.

Thanksgiving Day Worship Service. When worries wake or keep up God's people, they should use the occasion to get up and remember to thank God for His deliverance, provision, and presence. When You Wake Up Worried Get Up and Offer Up Thanksgiving.

Jesus proves His friendship to Christians by sharing His life with them and giving it up for them—and He says they can show they are His friends in return living by and for Him. What a Friend We Have in Jesus.

Christ Who faithfully watches over His own Father's house calls on Christians who are His house to thus hold fast in confidence and be fixed firm in hope until His return to fully inhabit it. May We be Fixed Firm in the Faith.

While the LORD often lays His people low He will always lift them up. Though the LORD Often Lays Us Low He Will Always Lift Us Up.

The Christian's chief desire for his mouth is to be filled with praise that honors God's name always. Let Our Mouths be Filled with God's Glorious Praise All Day.

This is a memorial service message on Psalm 23:4, 6 for our member, Jan Vermillion on Saturday, September 21, at the VFW in El Cajon, CA. She and her surviving husband, Chuck Vermillion, recited Psalm 23 every day and she asked during home hospice for this to be the verse for a message at her memorial service.

Though man makes his plans only God's purpose stands. Be Free of the Illusion of Having Control.

There is always the very dangerous possibility of self-deception in hearing God's Word but not doing it and pretending that we are and that we are all right. Beware of the Danger of Self-Deception.

God's people must resist the temptation to turn to worldly men and power for relief by remembering to keep trusting in God Who alone is their refuge. It's Best to Rest in the LORD.
