Sometimes the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is reduced to tingles and goosebumps; falling out and guttural tears, but the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is MORE than that. He doesn't come so that we can have a cool experience, but so that we can live differently. Encounters with God through powerful experiences are important to the life of a believer, but encounters with God through daily disciplines are equally important. Today, we zero-in on one of those disciplines... Bible reading. We are a people who not only have powerful, emotional encounters, but also live powerful, disciplined lives.

The Trinitarian Godhead of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have been in an eternal relationship of perfect self-giving love far before the foundations of the earth. Self giving love is at the heart of the Trinitarian reality. Though mankind has fallen and rejected our relationship with the Lord; through identification with Christ’s perfect, complete, and sufficient life, death, burial, and resurrection we are now recipients and participants in the very same love that God the Father has had for His eternal Son Jesus Christ! This love is the basis for our identity in Christ Jesus. We have been invited to the table!
