Sinopsis
I pastor Legana Christian Church in Tasmania, Australia. I do a weekly morning radio program called Life Matters where we deal with some of the difficult issues we all face in life, and discuss how might tackle them. I also produce another radio program called Finding Truth Matters where I take the ancient truth of God's Word, explain it, and show how it is relevant for today. I spend a fair bit time helping couples prepare for their marriages and have been doing so now for nearly 30 years. Lately, I've been producing some 1 minute audios for radio stations where I try to take a complex problem or idea and simplify it and offer a different perspective for people to consider. I blog. I write eBooks on some of these topics as well.

Malachi - Part 5 - Why was Malachi so Concerned about Weddings?
06/10/2024 Duración: 40minThe Book of Malachi is the last book in the Old Testament. It is the 'capstone' of the prophetic books. In many respects it is a summary of all that the previous prophets had declared. If effect, it announces the end of the Old and the soon coming of the New Covenant which we be preceded by John the Baptist coming in the 'spirit of Elijah' and the LORD Immanuel Himself who would "come" into His Temple. Of the seven themes that are intertwined throughout Malachi, one of them is the importance of marriage. What GOD says through Malachi to men about how they treat marriage - and thereby - women in general, is still just as relevant for today. Malachi - Part 1 - Introduction: Who Was Malachi?
30/09/2024 Duración: 34minMalachi was the last of the Old Testament prophets. His 55-verse book announces the ending of the Old Covenant, and the soon coming of the New. His book is unique among the biblical literature because it is a "disputational". Some scholars believe that 'Malachi' is not an actual name, but was really the designation of an anonymous author. Dr. Corbett argues why this view is doubtful. Malachi clearly cared about GOD, His Law, and GOD’s people. He also cared about the Temple as a place where GOD and mankind could meet; and also about the Priesthood who were ordained to serve GOD in the Temple.

Malachi - Part 3 - To Whom Was Malachi Prophesying?
30/09/2024 Duración: 31minTo who was Malachi prophesying? There are several contenders, but Dr. Corbett explains why it is important to understand to whom Malachi was actually prophesying. He considers several of the themes introduced in the opening section of this sacred book including the need to honour God in worship. To honour someone is to treat them as important, guard their reputation, & serve them gladly. Worship is meant to be done with sacrifice - It should cost you something! How Should We Read The Old Testament? We should read the Old Testament the same way that read the New Testament — worshipfully! Knowing God Through The Psalms, Part 9, THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD - Psalm 23
02/06/2024 Duración: 33minDavid was a shepherd - he knew what it was to be a 'good shepherd'. In John 10:1-18, Jesus describes Himself as a 'good shepherd'. David's description of 'sheep' in Psalm 23 are described as utterly helpless and defenseless without having access to the protection of a shepherd. David felt like this when he was a young man - but then he realised that GOD was his shepherd. David's relationship with GOD as his shepherd enabled him to rest. Rest from constant activity is good for our soul, and despite what we think, our souls need 'restoring' and refreshing. The motif of water as a source of refreshing and replenishing runs throughout Scripture and David employs it in Psalm 23. Without ceasing to rest and be refreshed spiritually, we are denying ourselves our GOD ordained means of being psychologically healthy. This involves prayerfully submitting to GOD as your shepherd, and discovering that you can be set free from fear. This kind of lifestyle can lead a person to living a fruitful life of bliss with the Great
