I did a recent post on Facebook about demonic activity. I receive messages from people all over the world that have been experiencing night terror. Sad thing is the mainstream church is basically ignoring this in large part. I've been there. So for those of you suffering with night terrors and demonic attack the good news is there is a solution. His Name is Jesus. Here is the etymology for nightmare ---- nightmare (n.) late 13c., "an evil female spirit afflicting sleepers with a feeling of suffocation," compounded from night + mare (3) "goblin that causes nightmares, incubus." Meaning shifted mid-16c. from the incubus to the suffocating sensation it causes. Sense of "any bad dream" first recorded 1829; that of "very distressing experience" is from 1831. Cognate with Middle Dutch nachtmare, German Nachtmahr.
