  Part Two Rescued, by the blood of a lamb! The Tyrant and the Lamb “Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron said: ‘Up! Leave! Go worship the Lord as you have requested...and also bless me!” Ex 12:31-32   “Tyranny, like Hell, is not easily conquered,” wrote Thomas Paine in one of his pamphlets, that certainly was true about the tyranny in Egypt. Nine ferocious plagues failed to loosen the tyrant’s grip! And so a tenth must come-more terrible than ever! to set God’s people free. Ultimately, it was a ‘Lamb’ that did the job! And what happened that night, still happens today!  

  Part Two They are just as devastating as today!   The Plagues of a Hardened Heart “...and Pharaoh's heart became hard...” Ex 7:22   Dostoevsky’s Dimitri said it well: “The battlefield is the heart of man.” That proves true in our Scripture this morning, as a plague after plague descends upon Egypt, and the heart of one man could have stopped it from happening! This morning, let’s kick through the wreckage and learn the lessons of a hardened heart...

  Part One of Pastor Rod’s study on “Exodus out of the Land of Bondage”   Wherever there is greatness, you’ll find a...  Burning Bush   “Do not come any closer...for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Ex 3:5 It should come as no surprise that Moses’s famous encounter with God happened during a lonely, grievous period of exile. Periods of sorrow are often times the holiest of ground, and every person used of God has been there: face-to-hidden-face at last with His all-consuming Holiness!

The first several steps toward doing right, always include a few steps backward! It’s nice to know that we’re not alone in this: Just one day into his new-found calling and Moses is ready to bail! Let’s join in his struggles this morning...

The Long-Range Dangers of Short-Term Disobedience “At a lodging place along the way, the Lord confronted Moses and was about to kill him” Ex. 4:24 Eternity can teeter on the Fulcrum of a moment! Short-term foolish choices come with long-range, dangerous consequences! We see that in our scripture this morning: Moses-the man of destiny, called by God!-is about to lose it all with a moments indiscretion! Let’s learn is well today...

It's the one question that has all the answers! "Wonderful Question Loaded with Hope" Why do you look for the living amoung the dead? He's not here. He is risen!" Lk 24:5 A person's wisdom is revealed in the questions he tries to answer. Wise people ponder the deep, perplexing questions; foolish people have no questions at all. One of the greatest questions ever posed was asked that the day at the empty tomb. Let's be wise this morning and ponder it as well!

One way or the another, He will be praised! "Lest the Stones Cry Out" "I tell you," He replied, "If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out." Lk 19:40 "All the earth, with a thousand voices, praises God,"the poet Coleridge once observed. But he wasn't even close! There are great many more than a 'thousand'! Scientists tell us there is a frequency in everything that exists. And all of them perfectly tuned for the glory of God! Let's listen in...
