What makes people view porn? Some would say that many people view pornography because they want to escape feelings of emotional pain or stress. That sounds plausible… but is that biblical? As we continue The 10 Half-Truths Series, we’ll ask the question: is porn addiction nothing more than a misguided pursuit of emotional relief?

Manny was a successful Amish businessman who got everything he wanted. But he couldn’t get free from sexual sin, no matter how hard he tried. But when he came to the end of himself, he learned the power of grace.

The only safe way to handle sin is to see it as a deadly monster and kill it. We do ourselves no favors when we tell ourselves that our "sin is no big deal because nobody's perfect!" We don't need a lower view of the evil of sin, but a realization that a holy God has given us a way to overcome—through the power of grace.

One of the most important lessons we must learn in the Christian life is that we cannot allow our feelings to control us. This is even more vital for those battling their way out of sexual addiction. In this episode, we tackle another half-truth that keeps people addicted to porn: “I can’t change my feelings.” Plus, one of our staff members will talk about how living by his feelings led him to ruin, but living by faith led him into life.

God is good, which means that He wants nothing less than the best for us. But it also means that He won't be satisfied until we are fully mature men and women of God. That's what we'll look at in this Timeless Truths segment.

The incredible truth about God's love is that it is unconditional. This is incredibly liberating for some, and it sets them free from striving to earn God's favor. But many others use this reality as a license to continue their perilous descent into the depths of sin. In this Timeless Truths segment: When we're unwilling to confess our sins, our hearts grow hard and calloused. But when we humbly confess our sins to God and a trusted spiritual leader, the power of the enemy will be broken off of our lives.

When we sin, our first instinct is to cover it up so that we avoid any painful consequences. But God’s Word tells us that whoever conceals his sin will not prosper, and whoever confesses and forsakes them will find mercy. In other words, the worst thing we can do is keep our sin hidden. If we want to prosper, we have to live a transparent life.
