Episode #363: 2022 MotoGP French Grand Prix Report
26/05/2022 Duración: 52minA record crowd of 110,000 on race day heads to Le Mans to witness home hero Fabio Quartararo... finish off the podium?! It was Enea Bastianini who stole the field's lunch money again with a stunning 2nd half of the race performance to not only beat but humiliate the factory Ducati bosses after beating Francesco Bagnaia so bad he panicked and crashed at the final corner with 7 laps left. It was such a beating that Bastianini took his spice into the press conference with him and claimed Bagnaia is afraid of him as a teammate over Jack Miller, his other competition for the factory team next year. Is this fair? We discuss it on the show! We also talk about some of the silly season rumours as it turns out Joan Mir wasabout to stay at Suzuki according to his manager, and Alex Rins is the #1 rider on the board. Where will they end up? That and so much more, on Motorsport101!

Episode #362: 2022 IndyCar Grand Prix of Indy Report
20/05/2022 Duración: 48minWe were due a crazy one in IndyCar at some point with this season, and we just got one as IndyCar kicked off its Month of May with a rain-affected GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis! It was Colton Herta that took full advantage of the changeable conditions, gambled on slicks first, leapt to the front from 14th and would then be virtually unstoppable at the front. Mind you, he got a gift in the hands of Scott McLaughlin and his pitcrew. They were so adamant the track would dry out that slicks would be quicker. Until he spun under caution with slicks on a wet track. Same for Pato O'Ward as the title contenders parted like Moses and the Red Sea. Alex Palou and Josef Newgarden also struggling to see the flag off the lead lap. We talk that and some of the driving standards we saw in Indy which... weren't good, chief! We also talk about the future of the series as talk persists that we may see a Netflix-style documentary series about IndyCar in the future. We talk about the potential pitfalls that the series could h

Episode #361: 2022 Formula 1 Miami GP Report
17/05/2022 Duración: 01h13minLet's be honest here folks - This was the one we were all circling on the calendars. One of the most heavily anticipated and hyped races ever seen in F1, and we extended our show to compensate. Buckle up, because this one is wild. We had to talk about the hype going in. This was so heavily promoted that we had a Wednesday night concert with all the drivers and team bosses before a wheel was even turned. Influencers and celebs galore. David Beckham, Michael Jordan, JJ and TJ Watt, Francois Bourgeois and many, many more to name but a few. The race itself was never going to live up to expectation but we still thought it was alright. Max Verstappen had to survive a late storm from Charles Leclerc after a safety car turned the race into an 11 lap sprint, but the midfield quickly became a bar fight with Fernando Alonso, Pierre Gasly and Mick Schumacher all committing nasty acts of racecraft. Mick's was on Vettel, in a pure Top 10 Anime Betrayals moment. We also talk about Lewis Hamilton and Jewellery gate after

Episode #360: 2022 IndyCar Grand Prix of Alabama Report
14/05/2022 Duración: 43minIndyCar returned for Round 4 of the 2022 Season, and we had to stand back for fireworks at Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama, as we had a prime slab of beef to deal with! First and foremost, the winner. Pato O'Ward, Mr Fast Hands, was superb in his final stint, passing Rinus on cold tyres round the outside of Charlotte's Web, and would hold off a fast charging Palou to take his first win of 2022. But this was overshadowed by the constant talk regarding his future. Is he staying? Is he staying but heading to F1? Is there a new deal coming? We break it all down with RJ, who was in the press conference room as it all broke down! We also talked about a heated clash between Romain Grosjean and Graham Rahal. Grosjean left the Charlotte's Web with 2 "Bumps" on Rahal on the exit that was nonconsequential. But Rahal lost his rag with the Frenchman, accusing him of doing it on purpose. He'd even go onto suggest there might be retaliation and had half the paddock agrreeing with him? Who was right? Why was there such

Episode #359: 2022 Formula E Monaco Report
09/05/2022 Duración: 35minA return to Monaco for a race that last year, we called the 2021 Motorsport101 Race of the Year. It was a much anticipated affair, but in the end, Stoffel Season returned to the streets as he took an impressive win over Jaguar's Mitch Evans and DS's Jean-Eric Vergne. We talk about some of the excellent gamesmanship tactics of Stoffel's win, as well as the expense of Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein, who was set to win until a low-voltage battery failure shut his car off from the lead. Safe to say, Cam didn't take that one too well. ...We also discuss Dre's pre-season Jaguar pick. Mitch Evans has gone 1st, 1st, 2nd + Pole in his last three races, as he remains 9 points off the lead of the title. So why is the mood at Jaguar so glum? We dissect some of Sam Bird's struggles as well. We also talk some of the Silly Season news, as it turns out with Mercedes leaving the sport, Stoffel's going with them, heading up a new DS Penske collab with Jean-Eric Vergne, with Antonio Felix Da Costa heading to Porsche to partner Pa

Episode #358: Suzuki Quits MotoGP / 2022 MotoGP Spain Report
05/05/2022 Duración: 45minThis was an emergency episode we recorded and turned around ultra quick because for obvious reasons. We were shocked to hear on Monday afternoon the news that Suzuki would out of nowhere, told the team their intent to quit the sport at the end of the 2022 season. The ramifications from this are massive. Suzuki haven't even realised any official statements yet as Japan are in the middle of Golden Week, a public bank holiday. There's already been massive speculation regarding their riders future. Where does Joan Mir and Alex Rins go next year? What happens to the grid slots that Suzuki have? And with Dorna already writing a strongly worded letter reminded them of the 5-year agreement the sport signed on with last year, is this going to get settled in the courts? On top of that, we review the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez with Francesco Bagnaia winning a narrow fight with Fabio Quartararo, and Marc Marquez producing another miracle save in a fight for 3rd with Aleix Espargaro and Jack Miller. It's a special ed

Episode #357: 2022 MotoGP Portuguese GP Report
04/05/2022 Duración: 40minWelcome back, Fabio Quartararo, we missed you in this 2022 title race! MotoGP's 4th round of the Championship had the runners and riders return to Portimao for the Portuguese Grand Prix! And we got an absolute seal-clubbing of a win from the reigning Champion, Fabio Quartararo. We talk all about the polarity between his speed, and the rest of the struggling Yamaha paddock at the top of the show. We also talk Honda's struggles with complaints that familiar issues cropped up as the Marquez brothers had a huge scrap for... 7th. We also mention Jack Miller, who was looking good for a podium finish, until he divebombed the ever loving shit out of Joan Mir and caused them both to hit the deck. Right when Autosport drops a clanger that he might be going to LCR Honda... Not ideal as Ducati's soap opera of messy weekends continues. (Stop us if you've heard that one before.) Also, Moto2 had a huge multi-bike wreck due to some late rain, and Joe Roberts taking a sprint win for USA's first win for 11 years! All that a

Episode #356: 2022 Formula 1 Imola GP Report
02/05/2022 Duración: 50minNo, we're not going to call it the full name, you're welcome spell-checker! Welcome to Imola, and Round 4 of the Formula 1 World Championship, and after Charles Leclerc dominated the proceedings in Australia, Max Verstappen lead a near perfect Red Bull weekend, and a Grand Slam of his own to get back in title contention. Oh, and did we mention rain? We talk all about that, as well as the rare mistake that Charles made in chasing down Sergio "Minister of Defence" Perez, that dropped him to 6th, as well as the Mercedes struggles as Lewis Hamilton limped home to 13TH in a Pierre Gasly DRS train, while George Russell finished an excellent 4th! All that, and more on the Sprint mode format changes too, in a heaped episode of Motorsport101!

Episode #355: 2022 Formula E Rome E-Prix Report
29/04/2022 Duración: 41minWhile Monaco prepares itself for the REAL Grand Prix it has down there, we look back on Formula E's Rome Double Header weekend and for the first time since Season 6, we had a back-to-back winner as MITCCCCCCCCCCCH BRRRRRRRAH (Evans), dominated the weekend, including a Race 1 Dub where he came from 9th on the grid and still won comfortably. Mitch now resides just 9 points off the top of the Championship? Does King have to eat a Blueberry Pie after being adamant that Jaguar won't win? We also talk some more of the creative decisions the series has taken. Including trying to sync up Quali laps, having a mood room Parc Ferme style after the race, and adding extra... rather cringey intros during Qualifying. Dre, King and Cam... weren't impressed and discuss the series overly-contrived attempt to harbour drama. And we try and make some sense of the title picture as we're now 5 rounds down. Are we any closer to figuring out the state of play? We try and find out. All that and more on another M101, stay tuned for

Episode #354: MotoGP GP of the Americas Report
25/04/2022 Duración: 41minA very different kind of brilliance befell the Circuit of the Americas for Round 4 of the MotoGP World Championship. Marc Marquez, the heavy favourite, got hit with a technical gremlin off the line and fell to the back. So of course he still finished 6th, just 6 seconds off the win. We go weak at the knees over this ride. Oh, and Enea Bastianini won! That was cool. We discuss the prospects of whether a GP21 Ducati can truly challenge for the title, and Enea's credentials. On top of that, we also talk Jack Miller on the GP21.5, who finished on the podium, yet still faces more questions over his future. We discuss Jorge Martin, and Miller's roles in Ducati's growing headache. We also talk Alex Rins and his very sneaky title campaign that's going under the radar! All that and more coming up on a new Motorsport101!

Episode #353: 2022 IndyCar GP of Long Beach Report
22/04/2022 Duración: 41minLong Beach. A race of 95% excellent and 5% comedy. You'll see what you mean as you listen on! It was another outstanding display from Josef Newgarden at Long Beach, overrunning last year's winner in Colton Herta, then surviving an intense amount of pressure from Alex Palou and Romain Grosjean from behind, both arguably with faster cars. We break down Josef's most exciting win since... the previous round? And can he win that $1m Triple Crown bonus? We talk more about Colton Herta too. He had a carbon copy of his Nashville wreck last year, that put him out of the running while 3rd at Long Beach. Is it fair to question the young driver's discipline while he challenges for a title? And is this going to help him in his path for an F1 seat? On the other side of the coin, Romain Grosjean had his third 2nd place finish on a Street Circuit, that first win ever closer. Is he the TRUE leader of the Andretti team going forward? An interesting debate came up when discussing his weekend, well worth a listen! And we had

Episode #352: 2022 Formula 1 Australian GP Report
15/04/2022 Duración: 55minRound 3 of the Formula 1 World Championship had the travelling circus head to Albert Park in Australia for the first time in 3 years, with a new chicane, but a familiar result - Charles Leclerc laying a whooping on the field and Max Verstappen suffering ANOTHER DNF as his car exploded off a fuel leak. We talk about the state of play in the title race as Max falls 46 points behind Charles in the title race and Red Bull 49 points back in the Constructor's. Is this already over? *Nico Rosberg meme* We also talk about some of the weekend's disasters, like Carlos Sainz losing his Quali lap and then binning it on Lap 2. Fernando Alonso on track for a front row until losing it in Qualifying. And then Aston Martin, who spent most of their weekend rebuilding their cars and copping penalties. Safe to say, that honeymoon is over. Also, Formula 1 is heading to Vegas! We catch up with the big announcement from last week and talk about the layout, the cultural impact and beyond!

Episode #351: 2022 MotoGP Argentina Report
13/04/2022 Duración: 39minAleix Espargaro, at his 200th attempt, finally wins a MotoGP race. On an Aprilia. Just when you thought this era of MotoGP couldn't get anymore ridiculous. It was great to be back in Argentina after 3 years away, and we got a fantastic race long fight between Aleix Espargaro and Jorge Martin, with the veteran coming out on top. We talk about Aleix, his time in the sport, and what it means. Dre even coming out with a controversial statement - The Alien Era is dead. And that's a good thing! We talk about the continuing soap opera that is Ducati. Francesco Bagnaia having to fight tooth and nail for 5th, Jack Miller failing to pass a rider on track in 14th, and once again, the privateer runners taking the headlines. What on earth is going on?! We also catch up with Marc Marquez and some of talk regarding his Austin comeback, whether he should change his riding style, and are we right to be concerned over his long-term future regarding his double vision? Dre and Cam teamed up for a captivating chat on it. All

Episode #350: 2022 Formula 1 Saudi Arabia Report
07/04/2022 Duración: 51minWell... that was a smooth weekend. The boys are back to talk Saudi Arabia for Round 2 of the F1 2022 Championship and the most newsworthy part of the weekend, landed on Friday night. A suicide drone hitting a local oil refinery raised a lot of concern over safety, including a 4 hour long driver meeting with the teams, the boss, and the track promoters. We discuss it all in the middle of the show. Oh, and we had a race too! And it was actually pretty good! Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc had another superb fight for the win, and this time it was Max that came out on top. We talk that, some of the DRS chess tactics used, and what this means for the title fight. We also talk on the nasty incident in Qualifying where Mick Schumacher spun out at a chicane in a 32G crash. More questions asked about the safety of a 155mph average speed street circuit. Funny that. And finally, more on Mercedes struggles. George Russell with a very lonely 5th, but Lewis Hamilton knocked out in Q1 on merit for the first time in

Episode #349: 2022 MotoGP Indonesia GP Report
01/04/2022 Duración: 44minThe Rain Shaman, accidentally saving the Indonesian Grand Prix. None of this sentence was made up, honestly! For the first time since 1997, MotoGP returned to Indonesia, and it got wet! Stupid wet! Wet enough that the whole thing was put off for an hour! And amazingly, this was kind of the best option! Dre and Cam go hard on the preparation of the Mandalika Bay circuit after the dry running led to tyre carcasses that were 4 years old, Honda crying conspiracy and Marc Marquez suffering a highside so massive, it concussed him out of the GP and caused a relapse of the double vision he suffered at the end of last year! We break it all down here! And did we mention that Miguel Oliviera shocked everyone and won?! He was outstanding taking advantage of a bold first lap enroute to a dominant win ahead of Fabio Quartararo and Johann Zarco. Even more startling, Darryn Binder coming from the back to finish 10th, so we actually gave the man his flowers. It’s only fair, really! All of that and more on MotoGP’s return

Episode #348: 2022 Formula 1 Bahrain Report
26/03/2022 Duración: 51minNo really, Ferrari might be back. Sound the alarms! Alter the villagers! What the fuc- Here's Episode 348, or as admin Dre calls it - The one race between disasters for F1! We have the Bahrain GP, and to everyone's surprise, Ferrari's pace is real! Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen engage in an old rivarly, right before both Bulls give up the ghost in the final stint in what was a drama filled opener. We ponder if this could be our 2022 Title Fight! We also talk Mercedes - Hamilton never looked more relieved... to finish 3rd, with teammate George Russell 4th. But with the Silver Arrows visibly off the pace and the customer teams being the last SIX cars over the line, just how much trouble are they in? We also point out the vibe checks for the midfield, as Kevin Magnussen shocked the world with a 5th on his GP Return, Bottas in 6th, and Zhou Guanyu scoring points on his debut in 10th. Someone pour one out for McLaren mind you. And finally, some closing words on Abu Dhabi 2021 as the FIA released its repor

Episode #347: 2022 IndyCar Texas Report
24/03/2022 Duración: 48minWelcome back to Texas and IndyCar's second race of 2022 as we hit up Texas for the Xpel 375 and it was very much a tale of two races! So much so we got a special guest along too - In Cam's chair, is Chris DeHarde, IndyCar co-editor for Frontstretch and writer for Motorsport Magazine and the Indianapolis Star! We talk the race itself and its difficult spot on the calendar due to struggling ratings and racing as the PJ1 cement continued to play a hand in the race. Mind you, this one was better and we got an excellent fight for the win in the second half between Scott McLaughlin and Josef Newgarden, with the latter stealing it on the 248th and final lap! We talk the title fight between Penske and Ganassi after all 7 cars finished in the Top 7, and to our surprise, we saw Jimmie Johnson shock the field with a 6th place finish! We also talk Devlin DeFrancesco who had some teething problems as a rookie with three separate cautions he was responsible for, including a huge 3-car wreck involving him, Graham Rahal

Episode #346: 2022 Formula 1 Season Preview
17/03/2022 Duración: 01h26minThe big one. The season preview to end all season previews. It’s Formula 1 2022, and we have no idea what’s really about to happen! And that’s great! We try our very best to go team by team as we pick apart testing and multiple other factors as we try to guess how we think 2022’s F1 season will play out. New cars, some old faces, and a potential three-way title decider. Haas had to dump Nikita Mazepin at the 11th hour and Kevin Magnussen is back, a real upgrade for the American team. Alfa Romeo were probably the biggest strugglers in testing but have a genuinely great driver in Bottas. And how will Zhou get on? And how about Williams now Alex Albon is back to spearhead the team… and have they put out that brake fire yet? The midfield is anyone’s guess. Aston Martin look like the same team they were before. AlphaTauri have question marks over Yuki Tsunoda’s form and a car heavily “porpoising”. Alpine struggled in the test to the point where Fernando Alonso questioned the confidence in his car. And then McLa

Episode #345: Qatar MotoGP 2022 Report
13/03/2022 Duración: 45minAfter 15 years of struggles, difficulty, and tragedy, Gresini is back. This one was for Fausto. For the first time since that legendary day in Estoril in 2006, Gresini Racing wins in MotoGP and history was made as Enea Bastianini shocked the world and gave us the sport’s first ever female team principal win! We break down the unlikely win… and beyond, with Brad Binder and Pol Espargaro completing a podium that I don’t think anyone could have predicted going in. But there are rumblings beneath it all, with Gresini winning on the 2021 Ducati, while Pramac struggled on the 2022 bike, and Ducati’s factory were nowhere… with a hybrid of the two? This wasn’t the plan, and we discussed whether that’s good for business! We also talked about the good ol’ vibe check. Yamaha’s feared struggles in testing were very much true, with Fabio Quartararo beaten to the line in 9th, Morbidelli 11th, and the customer bikes barely fighting for points. And what about Suzuki, who looked astonishing in practice, but struggled in rac

Episode #344: 2022 IndyCar Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Report
11/03/2022 Duración: 36minIndyCar is back baby! And we got a fascinating return for the series in St Petersburg (FLORIDA), last weekend, as Scott McLaughlin, a man who was 60/1 going into the weekend, would win from pole, despite just about every usual IndyCar shenanigans being thrown at him. From backmarker traffic, to cautions and a charging Alex Palou right at the end, we talk at length about the development and “project” of Scotty Mac in IndyCar and ponder whether this is a sign of things to come with the amount of faith that Team Penske has put in him. We talk at length about the state of blue flags in the series after we saw dramatic blocking from Jimmie Johnson (Who totally wasn’t helping Alex Palou out), and Devlin DeFrancesco right at the end that gave Palou a couple of extra chances to close right in at the end. And to be honest, we wanted an excuse to poke some fun at another classic Will Power media rant after the race. But did he have a point? Should IndyCar’s “advisory” Blue Flag rule be changed? We talk some of the
