Episode #461: 2023 Formula E London ePrix Review
08/08/2023 Duración: 56minIt wouldn't be Formula E without a final chapter full of carnage right? Mitch Evans gave it everything he had in the first half of the weekend, but Jake Dennis would survive two Red Flags and a huge team orders scandal to take the Formula E World Championship! The struggles are over! But Envision seemingly had a hand in their own demise by refusing to play team orders with Nick Cassidy destroying his car as Sebastien Buemi swiped across him! Who was in the wrong? We also talk about the tame Race 2 as the rain led to a 90-minute delay, and then a race that had next to no action in it at all as Nick Cassidy would dominate to take 2nd in the Championship and the Teams Title for Envision Racing, one of the originals getting their big moment! We talk about all of that as well as Porsche's place in the title race, some of the silly season moves like Cassidy joining Jaguar, the rumours of Sam Bird at McLaren, as well as a shock return for Oli Rowland? All on another M101!

Episode #460: 2023 F1 Belgian Grand Prix Review
05/08/2023 Duración: 01h07minAnother manic F1 weekend and yet again, in the end, Max Verstappen wins. He becomes just the second man in history to win eight races in a row, and in this episode, we break it all down! We talk about the very nature of wet racing as yet another rain-affected weekend played a big role as the Sprint got delayed by 35 minutes and then shortened on Saturday. Is the Extreme Wet tyre now useless? Chaos at Alpine as well as a shock departing for Otmar Szefnauer in the middle of the race weekend with Bruno Famin taking over and 34-year sporting director Alan Permane also leaving. Just what the fuck is going in that team? And a shoutout to Max for leaving it all the way until Lap 17 until taking the lead against Sergio Perez... and winning by 22 seconds. So easy he was even joking about taking an extra stop towards the end. Just how do you beat this man? And what did we make of the Checo/Hamilton and Sainz/Piastri clashes? All that and more on another Motorsport101!

Episode #459: 2023 IndyCar Double Header At Iowa Review
31/07/2023 Duración: 45minCan there be any worse feeling for Josef Newgarden after winning both Iowa races in such dominant fashion than seeing Alex Palou shake his hand after finishing on the podium? In a scene straight out of The Office, that's exactly what happened! M101 recount the tale as Josef Newgarden and Penske completely restablished their short oval dominance, leading literally 99.4% of all the Iowa laps across the weekend. And with Josef taking 340 of those laps and reducing the lead down to just 80 points - Can Josef make another late comeback and gun Palou down? Also, is it time the series push for more ovals? Would we like to see Milwakuee and other Ovals back on the calendar after a 30% increase in TV ratings? And a live reaction to the news that Nashville is becoming the season finale, all on another M101!

Episode #458: 2023 F1 Hungarian Grand Prix Review
28/07/2023 Duración: 01h08minIt's the hope that always gets you. Lewis Hamilton scores his first pole position in 33 race weekends, and only the second time all year a Red Bull isn't starting from pole... and he led the race for about 400 metres. It was the biggest beating of the field yet by Max Verstappen, a 33.7 second dominant display by the Red Bull, leaving Lando Norris in the dust, with Sergio Perez back on the podium too. We try to make sense of just how dominant this Red Bull is. We also talk about the F1 Juniors broadcast and some disappointing comments made by Danica Patrick, who implied that her "un-feminine mindset" was the reason she won... to a child-friendly broadcast. We break down why her comments were so wide of the mark and how they may end up doing more harm than good for an important cause of trying to get women into Motorsport. And we try to make sense of the midfield battle in F1. McLaren are on a rampage, tripling their points haul in the last two weekends. Aston Martin thought they could win this one... and

Episode #457: 2023 IndyCar GP of Toronto Review
21/07/2023 Duración: 58minWell, that was a wild one alright. Christian Lundgaard, after a good year of teasing a big day on a road or street track, dominates the entire Toronto weekend enroute to his first IndyCar win! And somehow he only had the second most incredible drive of the day. Because despite Alex Palou's winning streak coming to and end, he finished 2nd despite having a broken nosecone that led to his front wing dragging against the ground for half the race. HE FINISHED SECOND. HOW?! We also have a deep dive about the Road to Indy and it's place in the series as it becomes more and more clear they're in direct competition with the European ladder with recent success stories like Callum Illot, Lundgaard himself, Alex Palou coming from Europe and Super Formula and Marcus Armstrong too. Can the 2023 Indy NXT crowd compete with what Europe's offering? All that and more on another Motorsport101!

Episode #456: 2023 F1 British Grand Prix Review
13/07/2023 Duración: 01h01minNOTE: This was recorded before the news of the Nyck De Vries, Daniel Ricciardo deal. More on that next week! But this was a weird British GP. The weather largely behaved itself. Instead of being a typical tyre shredder, it ended up a one-stopper with as little an amount of tyre reg, or delta that we've seen all year. And while Max Verstappen continued to make history with his 6th straight win and the 11th in a row for Red Bull.... a new challenger approached! McLaren had a brilliant 2nd and 4th, with Norris' strongest drive in an F1 car to date, and Oscar Piastri pretty much matching him stride for stride, only missing out on a podium due to the late Safety Car. A marvellous performance from the Woking team and yet another conundrum for who's got the 2nd best car in F1. Does anyone know? We also talk Cara Delevingne knocking back Martin Brundle's interview request at the British GP. Dre and Cam break down why so many fans don't seem to understand the basic concept of "No means no.", and what's led to such

Episode #455: 2023 Formula E Portland ePrix Review
10/07/2023 Duración: 54minWell... this was a wild one. Formula E had a scandal on its hands before the Portland ePrix had even started, with DS Penske given a 25,000 euro fine and a double pitlane start after the stewards got the word that the team had been placing RFID Scanners like you get at a Supermarket, in the pitlane to scan the barcodes on their competitors tyres. And when JEV was called out on the cheating, the man kinda doubled down on the severe dose of cheating. Inevitably, Dre, Cam and RJ weigh in on the drama, joke about it immensely, but seriously wonder how the heck they weren't thrown out of the weekend! And of course, the race itself, which was equally carnage filled, as Nick Cassidy won from 14th on the grid in a race that more resembled a cycling Sprint stage than Formula E. Over 400 overtakes across the race (Yes, basically two Berlins), but not a lot of it actually mattering until a late brakeaway from Cassidy resulting in the win after the second Safety Car. Was it fun? Sure? Was it chaotic? Definitely. Shou

Episode #454: SVG's Historic NASCAR Win/IndyCar In Mid-Ohio
08/07/2023 Duración: 54minA hell of a weekend in US Motorsport, so much so we had to make it an extra packed US special with Ryan Erik King joining Dre and RJ in the box! We had to include NASCAR's debut in Chicago and Shane Van Gisbergen's incredible victory, the first debut win in NASCAR for 60 years. The last time that happened, it wasn't even called The Winston Cup, and Johnny Rutherford was behind the wheel! And of course, we cover IndyCar in Mid-Ohio as Alex Palou is at it again, with his third straight win as he dominated the race in Dixon's signature round. With his fourth win since the Month of May, Palou now has a 110 point whopper of the lead, two weekends in hand, are we done for the season at the half way point? And we also talk about Benjamin Petersen. No, really. He played a major role in the race as he was a lap down but still fighting Felix Rosenqvist for position. With multiple drivers complaining about his excessive blocking, is it time for the series to change its policy on blue flags? And David Malukas has hi

Episode #453: 2023 Formula 1 Austrian GP Review
05/07/2023 Duración: 01h03minCONTENT WARNING: A fatal incident is discussed in this episode. It's been a weekend of chaos and sadness in the world of racing. In Austria, Max Verstappen won his 5th race on Austrian soil and 5th win in a row as Red Bull cement their greatest winning streak ever of 10 races. And they did it in style with a penultimate lap fastest lap attempt from the lead when Checo already held the bonus point. Talk about arrogance. Phew. Also, we talk the best F1 Sprint of the format change so far, and how we got to 1,200 track limit incidents that had to be reviewed, a final result that took 5 hours to dispute via protest and 20 penalties handed out for track limits violations. A messy one, but with no easy solution. And finally, a frank discussion on the state of Spa and junior racing as Motorsport mourns the tragic loss of Dilano van' t Hoff after a horrible crash in a rain affected Formula Regional race in Belgium. A sombre and important weekend, on Motorsport101.

Episode #452: 2023 IndyCar's GP of Road America Review
26/06/2023 Duración: 01h01minOkay, this is now getting ridiculous. Alex Palou is super hot. He took control late on in the GP of Road America and has now taken his third win in the last four races and extended his Championship lead to 74 points over Marcus Ericsson. And as a result, Dre and Cameron deep dive on the man's future. Should Palou stay at Chip Ganassi as the fastest man/car combo in the series and potentially dominate for years to come? Should he still move to McLaren with an outside chance of an F1 seat? Or does he just leave the series altogether and go all-in for an F1 drive? We weigh up the options! And the same goes for Marcus Ericsson too, who's future is up in the air. Chip Ganassi is playing hard ball with an extension for the "Sneaky Swede" but still wants money for his seat, while McLaren are also sniffing with a potential four car expansion in the works. And all of this while Marcus Armstrong is proving his worth in the 11. Is Marcus overselling his own hand? Is Chip arrogant for thinking anyone can win in his ca

Episode #451: 2023 MotoGP German Grand Prix Review
24/06/2023 Duración: 56minWelcome back to the title race, Jorge Martin! The Spaniard had a perfect weekend, doubling up with a Sprint and Grand Prix win, the latter a back and forth dogfight that had them separated by just 0.064 seconds in the end! But let's be honest here - That's not why you're really here. You're here for Marc Marquez, and the weekend that broke the camel's back. SIX crashes on the weekend, the latter of which on Sunday warm-ups fractured a rib and a finger and had Marquez pull out of the weekend despite being "declared fit". We dedicate the majority of the podcast towards breaking down the peak of Marquez's struggles and how we got to this point. And most importantly - Is it over? And we talk about the state of the field. Ducati had all eight of their bikes in the Top 9 with Jack Miller (who was extra ranty), the only man breaking up the mess. Has their dominance gotten too much? And what could be done to stop? That and so much more on the next Motorsport101!

Episode #450: 2023 F1 Canadian Grand Prix Review
22/06/2023 Duración: 55minOh Canada, Verstappen won again! *logs off* But Motorsport101 is back to review a surprisingly decent Monaco GP as Max Verstappen made yet more history. A fastest lap shy of back-to-back Grand Slams and all 70 laps led to extended his streak to 224 at the front of the field. The last time someone else led a lap of F1, it was 45 days ago. And he caught a bird in his brake duct. Seriously. Straight out of Randy Johnson's playbook (Google it!) But we also talk about one of the greatest podiums ever seen in F1. Adrian Newey joined Alonso and Hamilton on the stage and we think there's 24 Championships and 370+ wins between them, with Newey collecting his 200th as a designer! Also on the bill, Alex Albon collecting some flowers after an epic 7th place drive for Williams, keeping Norris and Ocon behind him on a 58 lap hard-tyre stint. One of the most important drives for Williams in recent times as we get into why! All that and more in another, Motorsport101!

Episode #449: MotoGP in Italy and Formula E Catchup
20/06/2023 Duración: 52minSometimes, you just gotta clean your room! We've been a bit behind on Podcasts lately, our bad! So we're doing what we used to do, mix and match some sports and play catch up! We talk a little bit about MotoGP in Italy, a weekend so devoid of news that we couldn't justify a full episode on it with Francesco Bagnaia winning via a Grand Slam in a Ducati Top 4 lockout. Oh and Marc Marquez crashes out from 4th and stares at his bike in dismay. Remember that, it becomes important later... We also talk about Formula E and catchup over the last three races. From Nick Cassidy winning in Monaco in 9th and sending it around the Lowes Hairpin, to the frustration of his Championship lead falling apart in Jakarta, with Pascal Wehrlein back in the winners circle and Maxi Gunther taking Maserati's first poles in Formula E and Maserati's first single-seater win in 63 years! And with it, we deal with a Jakarta round that had the sport change the format due to concerns the first race was too much of a sprint, and extensions

Episode #448: The 2023 24 Hours Of Le Mans
19/06/2023 Duración: 01h31minAfter many years, and the permanent addition of a host 5 years ago who complained about the state of Endurance Racing, Dre Harrison has caught the bug of sportscar racing, and enjoyed the most important Le Mans in recent years. And the 100th Anniversary running of the world's greatest race was an all-time classic and massive game of attrition. And above it all, we had Ferrari winning their first Le Mans since 1965, taking a thriller with Toyota all the way to the final two hours, with Toyota's ace Ryo Hirakawa binning the car at Arnage being the final blow for a team looking to go six straight. We talk about the Balance of Performance, and how almost every factory shined, including Peugeot who led several hours through the rain! Did the ACO get this right, or was it to stop Toyota from winning? And we HAD to talk about Hendrick Motorsport's incredible Garage 56 creation, as NASCAR stole the hearts of the field after some incredible fun converting a Stock Car into an Endurance racer faster than the GTE's!

Episode #447: 2023 IndyCar Detroit Grand Prix Review
12/06/2023 Duración: 57minDetroit was a wild one, and this time it was for all the right reasons... mostly. The new street circuit down Jefferson Avenue was an awful layout but made for some decent recent in the end. But one thing still remains clear. Alex Palou is still HIM. His first ever Street Circuit win now puts in the drivers seat for the $1m bonus and he at times looked DOMINANT in a 74 lap leading charge. Dre and Cam make the most of the performance! We also talk about a potential referendum on McLaren after Pato O'Ward made another big blunder, crashing into the wall while trying to pass Santucci. Alongside Felix Rosenqvist pushing Alexander Rossi into the wall, just what is going on with a team that should now be contending? And we get into the big news of Conor Daly being fired from Ed Carpenter Racing after a poor, but not outlandishly bad run of form, with Ryan Hunter-Reay coming out of retirement to race the #20 instead. Is there more to it than what it appears? All that and more on another loaded Motorsport101!

Episode #446: 2023 F1 Spanish Grand Prix Review
11/06/2023 Duración: 56minLook, we try to make this one seem like it was interesting, but sometimes you get what you're given. Max Verstappen completely dominated the Spanish Grand Prix, winning with a Grand Slam (by 24 seconds), and with it, has now led 155 consecutive laps in F1. Can anything stop him? Sergio Perez couldn't after getting knocked out in Q2 and could only manage 4th. 53 points back? Are we done here? Also, we try to make sense of the midfield post upgrades. Ferrari had a disatwrous weekend with their new sidepods, with Sainz finishing 5th after starting second, and a freak Q1 elimination for Charles Leclerc could only have him manage 11th. Rough. Mercedes though? Double podium after getting the best out of their new package, a good sign in their fight with Aston Martin. Who were just... kind of there? And hey, good for Lance Stroll beating Fernando for once! All that and much more on another Motorsport101!

Episode #445: 2023 24 Hours Of Le Mans Preview
08/06/2023 Duración: 01h08minNo, the thumbnail is not kidding, that really IS a NASCAR Stock Car on track alongside Le Mans prototypes. It's wild. But here's a special edition of Motorsport101 previewing the 24 Hours of Le Mans for 2023, the Centenary running of the World's Greatest Race! We break down all of the loaded Hypercar category! Toyota are the favourites with their wealth of experience and fleet of amazing drivers, but can they bring it home? Can Ferrari in their first Le Mans since returning to the top flight win their first overall race since 1965? How about the fleet of FOUR Porsches? They've been in and around the top runners in IMSA and in WEC but can they go one further? How about Cadilliac? And who wins the battle of the wooden spoon between Vanwall and their... "revamped" line-up and our "friends" at Glickenhaus? Find out in this hour long special edition, on Motorsport101!|

Episode #444: 2023 F1 Monaco Grand Prix Review
06/06/2023 Duración: 01h08minGood news gang, for the first time, we can say Charles Leclerc finished a Monaco Grand Prix! It's a plus! But oh man, shock news! We actually got a good Monaco GP! I know right? Red Bull actually came *this* close to losing one, due to a torrential downpour with just 25 laps to go, and Fernando Alonso almost undercutting Max for the win in transition... but they put slicks on it! *headdesk* We also breakdown the most bonkers Quali lap from Max Verstappen that got him there in the first place! A massive three tenths of a second gain from Max with just one sector to go, and jaws dropping the world over with Esteban Ocon almost stealing pole with three minutes left! We also break down some of the struggles of some of the sport's reserve drivers. Sergio Perez crashed in Q1 and struggled to make ground from the back of the field in 16th. And Lance Stroll missed the weighbridge in Q2, and was stuck in 14th before retiring after clattering into the Lowes hairpin on Inters. Who had it worse? Motorsport101 on a dr

Episode #443: The 107th Indianapolis 500
01/06/2023 Duración: 01h21minWell, that was a hell of an Indianapolis 2.5 right? We kid, but the 107th Indy 500 was yet another case of the tension being dialled up to the maximum in the final 50 laps! And in extra cool news, Ryan Erik King is back on the show this time around to break it all down! But first, we had to peel RJ O'Connell off of the ceiling as he celebrated his mans, Josef Newgarden finally winning the Indy 500 at his 12th attempt, the 2nd longest wait before anyone finally got their face on the Borg-Warner. And from 17th on the grid too! We had to address the elephant in the room though, and that was the finish. Not only did we get three red flags in the final 15 laps, we also gort a 1-lap shootout for the win in a moment where the series dusted off a rule that hardly ever gets used in order to do it. Was it controversial, an Abu Dhabi 2021, or something inbetween? We try to make sense of it. And we wonder, is Pato O'Ward becoming too aggressive for his own good? He went the complete opposite way compared to his last I

Episode #442: The Month Of May Special (GMR/500 Qualifying)
24/05/2023 Duración: 01h21minThe Month of May is here, and it's time to get through the half way point of IndyCar's biggest month of the year. In this episode, Dre Harrison and RJ O'Connell break down both the GMR Grand Prix on the Indy Road Course, and Qualifying for this weekend's 107th Running of the Indianapolis 500. And so far, Alex Palou is one step away from doing what Simon Pagenaud did in 2019 and sweeping the entire month! He dominated the GMR Grand Prix and then broke Scott Dixon's new record of the fastest pole run in Indy 500 history, with the entire front row cracking 234mph. Is Palou the greatest #10 car driver since Dario Franchitti? And should he really be considering a McLaren switch if the 2024 rumours are true? And we swing the pendulum on a rollercoaster month for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Christian Lundgaard had another incredible race at the road course finishing 4th, only to nearly get bumped in a disastrous qualifying session for the 500 where all of their cars were stuck in 30th or lower, and only Kather
