Springbrook Community Church

There are hurting people all around us. The question we need to ask as individuals and as a church family is how do we respond to people who are hurting? We will be studying the well-known parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10 to better understand how Jesus desires us to respond. Our desire at Springbrook is to be HeartStrong with Compassion for those in need.

In part two, we will talk about how we can use our love styles to understand one another and therefore love each other more richly through the love of Christ.

Everyone has a unique way of loving. We will be exploring four common love approaches - The Leader, The Optimist, The Validator and the Evaluator. Don't worry - it will make a lot more sense when we talk about it. We will discover principles which God can use to empower our love for each other.

Jesus Christ lived a life of letting go on this earth. He let go of his position in heaven and ultimately his life in order to die for us. In our relationships, we must allow Christ to empower us to let go of our rights, our hurts, our pride, our guilt and so much more. It's these things that poison our relationships. We will explore how letting go can give us true relational freedom.

We so easily set into comfortable plateaus in our relationships. We don't like to step out of our comfort zone. But God challenges us to step out of our comfort zone. Some people have a tough time communicating their feelings to their loved ones - like simply saying "I love you!" Others struggle in talking about the critical issues in their relationships and pretend that everything is okay, but it's not. We will learn the importance of letting Jesus Christ move us out of our comfort zones to create healthier communication.

Everyday we are bombarded with more things to do that we can ever actually accomplish. Many times when time is tight, we push relationships to the back burner and just do the minimum of what is expected. We need to call on the power of God to intentionally serve one another as God directs. We will discover how serving each other pleases God and builds strong bonds with others.

In a world of social media, the ironic thing is that people have fewer satisfying relationships than ever in their lives. When we are with the people that we care for - we are many times not totally engaged with them. Our culture has taught us that our time is too valuable to give all our attention to people. We will explore how God wants us to fully engage in relationships.

As we celebrate our sixteenth anniversary, we will be looking at how we will continue to fulfill our HeartStrong Vision. We are HeartStrong for loving God together, loving God one on one, loving our families and loving our community.

As we head into another exciting fall season of ministry, we will be exploring the mystery of ministry. As we serve others with the right motives, God uses it mysteriously to draw us closer to Him!

How do you approach God to worship Him when you are discouraged? We see a lament in Psalm 137 in which we can learn how to cry out to God in the midst of our own personal discouragments. Join us as we learn to be transparent with God about our times of sadness.

When we feel like our lives are empty, many times the root cause is that we have not fed on God's Word. In Psalm 1, we have a colorful picture of how when we meditate on the truths found in the Bible, we will be truly satisfied. You will learn how you can experience true spiritual satisfaction.

Thanksgiving is a state of mind. So often we are so focused on what is not going well in our lives, we forget to thank God for all He has done and is doing in our lives. We will study Psalm 107 to learn how we can have a more thankful outlook.

People have a natural desire to worship something - whether it is stuff, pleasure, success or something else. But we were created to worship and praise God. The Psalmist in Psalm 100 speaks of how we should engage in praise. We invite you to study this celebrated Psalm and become a more skilled worshipper of God who desires our praise.

We are always in need of the wisdom that God wants to grant to us through His Word. In Psalm 19, the writer says God's truth is to be more desired than gold! Come join us as we week to fully appreciate the amazing book God has revealed Himself.

In Psalm 23, we find the ability to express satisfaction in the care of the great Pastor of the universe, the Redeemer and Preserver of men. With joy the Psalmist reflects that he has a shepherd, and that Shepherd is Jehovah.

Have you ever messed up? Have you ever wondered if you were good enough for God? Well in Psalm 51 we find David humbly confessing and praying for mercy in a way that reflects genuine repentence and is a real model for us today.

We will be looking at the place of us residing in God (and He in us) as the true resting place for man as he makes his journey through a sometimes difficult life.

There is no one picture that sums up King David's life, because just like all of us, he was a complex man. He made a lot of mistakes in his life, but in the end, in him we find one of the greatest worship leaders in the Bible. Psalm 57 reveals a man who deeply loves God and who models for us what true worship is all about.

God's desire for the church is that everyone would be unleashed to use their spiritual gift and abilities to transform a community. Imagine if the vast majoritiy of people who call Springbrook home would be unleashed to change people's lives. Come - let's dream together!
