We often have worldly wisdom, but far more important is to be astute about the things of God. Do we do the things that will help us grow in our relationship with God?

When we are estranged from God through sin, God longs for us to return, waits for us with mercy and rejoices when we have repented and returned to Him.

Today's Gospel offers an easy example of a Scripture passage that can be incorporated into our prayer: It is a passage which can challenge us to ask what stands in the way of my being a disciple of Jesus.

We do not easily acknowledge our deep inner poverty. Awareness of our great need for God enables us to become a person of prayer.

Jesus is the narrow gate that leads to life. sin is the wide gate that leads to death.

We are sent out as disciples of Jesus to proclaim to others that joy we have found as disciples of the Lord Jesus.

If our faith in Christ is to become a blazing fire transforming our world, we must all begin to live holy lives. This conversion is brought about and nourished by deep, frequent prayers.

If we were to die unexpectedly, am I ready to meet Jesus? Am I ready to be taken to the heavenly home?

Prayer is essential if we are to grow rich in the things of God. Meaningful prayer requires that we bring ourselves to God, with both our positive and negative aspects of our lives.

Often when we do not know what is good for us. That is why we must prayerfully place our lives in God's hands. God wants only our good, our eternal good.

Only when we truly welcome a person into our lives and our hearts can we communicate to them the "good news: of Jesus, Our Savior.

If we are aware, there are many to whom we can reach out with compassion.

We rejoice, not because we live in perfect peace and harmony, but because Christ has won the victory over sin and evil. We are assured that we will rejoice with Him for all eternity if we remain faithful to Him

God is working in the Church and in our lives often when, to the eyes of the world, it appears we have been abandoned and forsaken.

Even though there is sin in the lives of all of us, we have hope of salvation if we can repent of our sins and call upon the mercy of our God.

When we choose sin, we choose death. When we repent, Jesus freely restores us to life.

We were brought to life and raised up with Christ(Ephesians 2:4-6) therefore we can say that we were with Jesus when he ascended to the Father

The fruit of the Eucharist can be limited by inner awareness of who we receive

Confirmation gives us the grace to trust in Jesus and allow Him to lead and guide us throught life

Jesus came to bring a new heaven and a new earth. The life He shares with us in the Eucharist is essential in deepening His life within us and gathering us into this heavenly Jerusalem.
