Confidence A to Z Podcast: Faith
29/12/2015 Duración: 27minWelcome back to NACWL podcast series – Confidence A to Z. Confidence is important for every woman leader. In this new podcast series NACWL Founder, Karen Zeigler will be interviewing NACWL thought leaders each week as we explore confidence from A to Z. Click here to subscribe to our podcast in iTunes. Confidence in and of itself is being sure of a certain fact (a hypothesis or action that is correct): Like being confident in knowing how to spell a word; confident in knowing how to do something; or having confidence in a fact. This doesn't necessarily require faith because you have evidence to support it. Faith on the other hand is a strong belief or trust in something or someone (in this case in God). No one has ever seen God! I have never seen God and neither have you but you have faith that God exists. There doesn't need to be physical proof or evidence. Having faith in God is where our confidence is formed. The sun rising and the fact that I woke up this morning and I had nothing to do with it is fai

Confidence A to Z: Expression
22/12/2015 Duración: 19minWelcome back to NACWL podcast series – Confidence A to Z. Confidence is important for every woman leader. In this new podcast series NACWL Founder, Karen Zeigler will be interviewing NACWL thought leaders each week as we explore confidence from A to Z. Click here to subscribe to our podcast in iTunes. Confidence! It's the one concept that most women struggle with. I know I did for a very long time. If I ask most women what they believe is true confidence, most will respond with answers tied to personal appearance. There would be answers like well put together outfits, walking tall, having the right hair-makeup-jewelry, speaking with strength and clarity, basically anything that pertains to reflecting nothing short of perfection. I used to think like this, until I discovered true confidence had nothing to do with any of those answers. There were many times I walked onto a platform, or into an opportunity and psyched myself into becoming what I believed my audience wanted to see from me. Whether it was a s

Confidence A to Z Podcast: Directness
15/12/2015 Duración: 26minHow we often see Directness Directing: manage or guide by advice, helpful information, or instruction. The directive kind of communication is often the "brutal honesty" that can be very hurtful to others. A person or leader characterized by this brutal honesty can get a reputation for moving so fast that no one can keep up. This kind of communication is also often used to communicate harsh or damaging words, veiled by the pretense of "being direct." Healthy Directness Directness makes it possible for people to have confidence in your communication, because they know they're getting the "real story" from you. Directness is a gift you give to the people you are leading. I define directness as "bringing clarity to honesty and wrapping it in understanding." This requires that you: Clearly see what information or feedback, or direction that you want to give. Communicate the truth honestly, resisting the temptation to add "fluff" comments to make yourself look good or diffuse your discomfort with speaking

Interview Takeaways The definition of awareness is the knowledge or perception of a situation or fact (or person). Fear holds us back from many experiences in life and chokes the confidence out of our lives . The simplest questions can build the fresh awareness that can free us from fear and being stuckness in any situation. Guilt also holds us back from exploring situations in a way that raises our awareness - cut through the

The connection between Confidence and Calling is apparent that God Confidence is the Key. Confidence means "feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something". So if we truly believe that we can rely on God and his promises, then there is less pressure to perform and be perfect in our own strength. Interview Takeaways Belief with total certainty that we can rely on God to provide our needs. God does not need our suggestions; he wants us to be humble and available. Take one step at a time with God's guidance and allow Him to lead the vision. Stay close to God to stay on the path he has laid out. Roadblocks preventing you from fulfilling your Calling Not taking actions until we feel total clar

In this podcast series NACWL Founder, Karen Zeigler interviews NACWL thought leaders each week as we explore confidence from A to Z. This week's podcast is with Kimberly Berger as she talks about the importance of being Brave! Click here to subscribe to our podcast in iTunes. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 Walking in God's purpose for our lives requires us to be BRAVE. There are many instances when we must move boldly forward in the confidence that He offers us. Acting boldly, bravely in confidence does not happen automatically. We must choose to operate that way. There are situations where we must step out of a comfortable place into the unknown; times when we choose to act differently than our family and friends and also times when we must bravely trust God's direction when all we see is darkness ahead. When we make the
