Elijah is a kind of Old Testament superhero. He heard from God, performed astonishing miracles - including the first restoration from death in the Bible - and yet collapsed in an emotional funk.  How helpful! Today is Earth Day. Around 1 billion people in over 190 countries will take part in celebrating this earth and raising awareness of preserving its environmental health. It's big. A virtual summit on the environment is taking place today. The news is full of references to the summit, Earth Day and environment issues. Climate change: Biden summit to push for 'immediate' action But did you know that the first person to propose an Earth Day was motivated by his Christian faith? The name of John McConnell Is likely not that well known to most of us. Post-Easter - consequences of resurrection “We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
