Fall salmon fishing tips this time on the Off Shore Tackle Podcast with Wisconsin Angler Russ Gahagan. Walleye charter captain and tournament angler Ethan Wright is our guest this month on the Off Shore Tackle Podcast. First, he talks about his recent saltwater fishing adventures in Florida, then the conversation turns to north country walleye. The legendary angler tells the story of how he helped develop the OR-12 board by testing the prototypes in a swimming pool. Then he has great advice on finding fish and making the most of your time on the water.  

We're talking with the man at the helm of Off Shore Tackle these days, Nick DeShano. Nick grew up in the family business, and these days, runs the day to day operations of the respected company. Nick talks about the early days of Off Shore and how they've evolved into the "Leader in Trolling Technology". He also discusses the new American Catfishing Association and the role his company will play in that group.  Nick says catfish are an extremely popular gamefish in the south, and that northern anglers are missing out on some great action. The conversation wraps up with a look at improvements on the popular OR-12, and great advice on how to use tadpoles, snap weights and the SST Pro Mag boards.    

A very interesting conversation this month on the Off Shore Tackle Podcast as we talk with walleye pro Robert Blosser. Robert has fished competitively for thirteen years and is a three time "Angler of the Year". He has some great advice on trolling rivers with lead core for wintertime walleye, getting the most from your electronics and rigging a new boat. Lance talks about his career in the fishing industry and how Off Shore has played a role in his success. He also describes some new projects in the works, including the Teachin Fishin platform, designed to cross over into all fish species.    

We're talking trophy late season walleye on Lake Erie with Frank Burkhart this month on the Off Shore Tackle podcast. Frank's son, Brycen recently won the kid's division of the Fall Brawl with a ten pound plus fish. The Burkhart's are hard core Lake Erie trollers, catching more than 5,000 fish each season. Frank tells the story of losing a huge fish at the boat last fall and describes how they target those big walleye. He also talks about their partnership with Off Shore and why they make the best trolling products on the market.

It's a very special edition of the Off Shore Podcast this month as we talk with long time Pro Staffer Tommy Skarlis. Tommy talks about how he got start working with Off Shore, his close friendship with Bruce DeShano and his impending induction into the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame. The long time angler also discusses the  challenges he's faced recently and why he's not ready to quit fishing.

Nick is the guy at the helm of the company these days.   He has some interesting thoughts on where the company is headed, including potential new markets and products. Nick also discusses several other topics including Lake Michigan salmon fishing, Saginaw Bay walleye tactics and Off Shore pro staff requirements.  

This month on the Off Shore Tackle podcast we're talking with tournament walleye angler David Kolb.  David recently won the NWT Tournament out of Sault St. Marie, Michigan. David explains how he used Off Shore OR 12's and the SST Pro Mag boards with Tattle Flags to put several big fish in the boat. Kolb describes how he found those fish, and what he used to catch them. He also talks about the mental aspect of tournament fishing and the importance of pre fishing before an event.

Randy talks about the similarities between tournaments and chartering....and how both have made him a better angler. He also describes his relationship with Off Shore and how he uses snap weights to catch more fish...and keep them alive in the livewell.

This month on the Off Shore Podcast we're talking with fishing educator Lance Valentine of Walleye 101.    Lance doesn't subscribe to the conventional wisdom that walleye like a slow presentation and he has some interesting tips on trolling at speeds up to 4mph. Valentine says the right gear is critical at those higher speeds though and talks about the importance of using the Off Shore EZ Crankbait Tuner, Tattle Flags and Tadpoles to be more efficient on the water.
