The LUVCAST train keeps on going! Next up is a mix by the shimmering new project of Luv Shack Records' cohorts Lee Stevens and Curley Sue by the name of 'Neon Amish'. Their productions hark back to the sombre side of pop, new wave and italo disco. But albeit the dedication to dark 80s kitsch, the Neon Amish vibe is very much rooted in the house sound of today. The mix is very much showcasing their taste in music; there are grand gestures (Miami Vice classic 'Crockets Theme') and weirdness (Antonio Maiovvi) sitting prettily together. 01. The LUVCAST series continues with a mix from a close friend of the label. Guiddo is a natural when it comes to music production, DJing and has recently become resident Dj at Pepper Club in the vast city of Shenzhen! As one half of Manhooker, he was featured on LUV011, and with his solo project Guiddo, he scored a fantastic release on Tim Sweeney's Beats In Space imprint. Everything Guiddo does, he does in style, and this mix is no exception. Younger than me are an Italian DJ and producer duo that are about to have their debut EP released on the Bordello a Parigi imprint early 2016. The men behind this project are Marcello Carozzi and John Ming. Their musical cosmos is heavily influenced by styles that have emerged from the (European) disco era; namely italo, acid and balearic. They are passionate about purism when working in the studio with their analogue gear and when DJing with vinyl. Hailing from Lyon, an up and coming European city with a boasting creative scene and a lively club community, Klaaar and Miimo have been active as producers, DJs, Promoters and Label associates for many years now. They are running strong with their techno project 'Oblast' since 2012, now their focus is on DJing, solo work for Klaaar and their engagement in the music-and-culture crew Art Feast and the associated record label Art Feast Records.With countless parties and bookings since 2008, Art Feast helped shaping Lyon´s club culture and is now an integral part of the new house music scene. Klaaar has become something of an ambassador for Art Feast, living in Berlin for one year and keeping close ties with the music scene in Europe. Pineapple Pop is a new project by Istanbul based producer Hemi of Paradisko fame. Leaning more towards a disco and soul tingled facet of house, Pineapple Pops oeuvre represents a modern Turkish electronic sound that is club focused whilst being playful. His new EP 'RVLTN' features remixes by In Flagranti and Bit Funk. Every now and then we get a strange and super genre specific mix for our LUVCAST series, and it's that time again. Manuel Dolp is a very active DJ from Vienna who has devoted himself to music with a futuristic twist, be it from the late 70s or today. He's one of the people behind Viennas "Everybody´s Darling" nights. For the mix, he told us that he "tries to offer an initiation of the glorious but neglected genre called freestyle." And he added: "Be so kind and take some time to listen to my outdated taste of bass music". Austria is currently a great breeding ground for talent and with the vast amount of talented producers in the scene there's an array of interesting matches that have emerged in the last couple of years. One of these projects was Ghost Capsules, an electronic pop group constituted of Tim Simenon (of Bomb the Bass fame), the singer Laura Gomez, Roman Luma on the drums and Georg Lichtenauer aka Valesta. While Ghost Capsules came to an end last year Valesta is still pursuing his solo career and currently pushing his sound through Jhruza rec.​ Georg has an unmistakable talent for tastefully interweaving pop, disco and house, be it in his tracks or DJ sets. LUVCAST 036 is a musical journey, courtesy of Vikipop aka Viktor Szekrényes. Working in Budapests 'Trancewave' recordstore in the 90's, Victor amassed an extensive electronic music knowledge, which led to him becoming an edior for hungarian e-music website/magazine Freee.hu. It was almost a decade later that he decided to take the plunge and start DJing. Since 2012, Victor has been working as an assistant for german house-heavyweight Tensnake. His mix is a tribute to 'real' deep house music. In his own words: "There are no unexpected turns, no flashy elements, no unreleased tunes, I just tried to collect some of my all time favourite deep house tunes." André Dancekowski is one of the driving forces behind the Magazin club in Bavaria and the host of their infamous "ICH HAB BOCK" parties. He's a notorious party animal, music lover and has a soft spot for 90's trash. Besides that he's a kind and humble guy who's always keen to surprise people when behind the DJ booth. This new LUVCAST is by Rob Campari and Zoltan 'the gorilla', and its a "late night podcast of new and old music". Rob Campari has been running his party series 'Campari Safari' and 'Everybody´s Darling' (together with Manuel Dolp) for over ten years in various venues in Bristol, London and Vienna. Artists booked varied from Gang of Four to Bo Ningen to Horse Meat Disco. As part of the Everybody's Darling party crew, he and Zoltan have been partners in crime for a while now and its no wonder this seemed like a good match for our Luv Shack podcast series. Their mix is not really "mixed" as they wanted to play new music and classics you can hear at Everybodys Darling , Another Island (their club in London) or Wild Life - their new night with cosmic and anything wild and a little outside the norm. For the next LUVCAST we've got quite a biggie in store! It's from none other than (Acid) House / Techno icon TIN MAN who is (as are we) based in our lovable city Vienna. The California born Johannes Auvinen is not only a multi instrumentalist and analog freak but also quite a visionary when it comes to musical boundaries. His seven (!) albums were released between 2004 and 2014, encompassing a staggering amount of styles ranging from raw acid house to ambient chamber pop. Being an admirer of 80s synthpop, TIN MAN would even sing on many of his tracks - which is a good indicator of just how inconvenient it is to simply call him a techno producer. 2014 also marked the year when his skills as a selector were aquired by Resident Advisor for their prolific mix series. Needless to say we're stoked to having him on board of the LUVCAST train! What do KINK, Juju & Jordash and Toby Tobias have in common? Apart from being awesome electronic musicians and performers, they have all released on Croatias outstanding techno and house label Burek. And behind this exciting and ever consistent Label stands Pytzek and his partner Mislav. He's a producer himself, and an exceptionally busy DJ in Croatias scene, being based in Zagreb and playing the legendary Garden Festival for years (also the final one this summer!) Daso, a new player within the ranks of Luv Shack Records (with two tracks on LUV015) is by no means a stranger to the electronic music scene. Megadon Betamax is the one man synth-disco-band of Dubai based Australian Mostyn Rieschmueller, who is also one of the three minds behind the superb undergound label Voyeurhythm. His productions keenly hover between sophisticated modern disco and eerie leftfield synthesizer boogie. As a DJ, Mostyn clearly loves to assemble music from all the different genres that shaped the house sound of today. Looking back at the catalogue of Jacques Renault, it's hard to believe that his first ever solo release was in 2008. Damnitsdisco are "Johannes better known as Findus and Bernie aka Acid Kayak" - alright?
